I am planning to put a 7" diag LCD in my 1g, not for dvd watching or just plain ricing the car out, but for use as a "rearview mirror" of sorts. I am going to run 2-3 board cameras (the ones as big as a quarter) in this setup: one acting as a rear eye for backing up and the other 1-2 in the front in the bumper for use in parking and cool video shots i might wanna make. The LCD will be mounted where the mirror currently is. My question is if you guys know if there is 12V power running near the rear window in a car that doesn't have a windshield wiper back there. I won't be running more than 15W and 5A off of that circuit. I could splice power from the lights or something else like that, but I dont wanna screw too much with those lights unless i get some altezzas *rolls eyes, mutters "damn ricers"*

The only thing that would have full time power back there is a hatch light.

The only piece of equip I am planning to run off that 12V is one of those cameras. The rest (frontcam/s, LCD) will run thru a switch which will be connected to the 12V+ lead from the radio.

if you wired the camera into the b/u lights circuit, you could make your set-up pretty "pimp" (sorry, couldn't resist) and have the camera and screen auto on whenever you put the car in reverse. you could also run a switched power line so you could take cool shots from behind when you were driving (the looks on those mustang drivers' faces as you are smoking their asses). kind of a best of both worlds thing, you know? well, that's my $.02
