Ok, 2 seconds ago I was replacing my old burnt out interior floor lights with PIAA LED 168 wedge bulbs. The first one went in and lit up, and the second one lit and then made a little spark and went out. The lights, dash, and stereo still work, the car starts, but now none of the interior lights on either side work. Also the lights on the ceiling dont work. DId i just fry all of the lights in my car???? Blow a fuse? After some searching on this board, I checked to make sure my taillights worked and signals, they all do. The dash lights work. What fuse could I have blown? Will it be located under the hood, or inside the car next to the diagnostic port? THANKS!

Yeah, it sounds like you blew a fuse. I think it is the one inside driverside floor in that panel and it should be the one on the bottom row to the far right. :thumb:

that would probably make sense... can i just ask since i've never blown a fuse on anything before in my life. What does a blown fuse look like? Will it be noticeable? Once more thing, are the stock fuses available at like radioshack? Are they 20 amps stock or what? Would increasing the fuse rating prevent it from blowing again??? I know i have a lot of questions, but i appreciate your help!

(If your wondering why this smuck doesnt go outside and look in his fuse box, and then go to radio shack to find out first hand its because its currently -4 degrees, with 40mph winds, a visibility of less than 150 ft, and expected 15in of snow before it stops on monday... needless to say, I left my car in the driveway, and I think its still there, but I cant actually see it......)

They're numbered and color-coded. Don't bother with Radio Shack, EVERYONE carries them, including gas stations and the grocery store. Get a kit that has the little "handle" included. Your best bet is Wal*Mart. There are spaces for spares either in the cover or around the edge of the block: if you have no spares in there, put some in. Get a flashlight for the glovebox, too. They only shit on you in the dark.

You can see when they're burned; the little S inside burns through. They're also making fuses now with LEDs on them that tell when they've blown. The fuse rack will also have testers which use the contacts on the tops of the fuses.

Also, remove and sand-off the contacts for you doorjamb switches.
