wow bene a while since i dropped by dsm tuner and i see someone else has harnessed my idea,

something else to consider if your in extreme heat u could always stick the bottle ina ice chest (not for too LONG)....

this goes along with the fuely cooley idea fuel line rolled ina can that u throw ice in to cool the fuel...

aren't biothermal reactions cool??

Ok, I dont see any link to this kit, nor any official prices. Where are they? I too would like to see the official results from this as for the price it doesnt seem like the performance would be there, but thats just my opinion as I dont know price etc.

Something else to consider is that CO2 should never be sucked in through your intake as it wont combust (IE: dont let it float up into your air filter)

How do you have this kit mounted? I have a Supra SMIC, so I am curious.

The kits are 150.00 plus shipping witch is about 15.00. Im making a kit for someone who is going to the dyno in about 3 weeks so hopefully we will have some real #'s to go off. I just got a palm pilot and saving some money for the pocketlogger software so I can log intake temps.
Co2 does not float it is heavier than air, it will sink. The c02 is sprayed very close to your intercooler and it will not make it to your intake.:thumb: please e-mail me if you are interested in a kit

Yea, I figured it was, and with the car in motion that will only force the co2 through the IC and not allow it to float upwards, I was just stating a fact I suppose. I would like to see the dyno charts on this, I would assume the benefit would be small, but who knows. I know it would help out quite alot on SMIC's more than FMIC's, especially the stocker since it heat soaks quite a bit more than a Supra SMIC. With the pocketlogger I dont believe you can log intake temps like that. I have one, and I believe the temp is measured at the MAS if I am not mistaken, which would mean the change in temp would happen long after the IC. My temps read about 115 or so at max if I remember right, so I SERIOUSLY doubt its after the IC :).

However you can buy an intake temp gauge and install it in your intake tract. It would be nice to have one installed somewhere closer to the thorttle body or even in the intake mani wall itself. This would pose a good reading for both this, any further IC upgrade, Water injection cooling temps, and any possible temp gained from propane injection. I just think it would be nice to see results of all of those. I believe an intake temp guage usually runs around 150-200 dollars. I'm sure greddy and Apexi makes them as well if you were interested. You would want one that went to at least 300*, as you would want to capture the entire spectrum of possible temps, even though with an IC I seriously hope you wouldnt hit that hit. Alright man, I'll be awaiting your results.

nah, twitch is right. co2 will not "float" upward. period. and it'll help fmic as well. i mean, why wouldn't it? to get the coldest air charges possible i think this sprayer is a damn good idea. better than purging your nitrous over the intercooler.. unless got deep pockets or a wet nitrous system :D

Purging nitrous is very expensive and you are wasting your n20, why waste a gas that will make your car haul a$$ when you can use a gas that is a lot colder and a lot cheaper! I cant wait till I get to dyno my car I know it will put down some cool numbers….my car is not fast at all IM just curious what the kit will put down, IM trying my hardest to get to the dyno.

I totally agreed from the beginning that it would be a benefit, never once did I mention that it wouldnt. My only question is HOW MUCH of a benefit is it? The dyno results will prove how much, because at this point I am unsure. Water works nicely, and I'm sure this would as well since its so much colder, but for 150 I can make a WI kit which I KNOW will add quite alot of power. Just curious, we'll see how it goes. I don't doubt your kit, I just want to see how much of a gain there is before I would throw down 150 for it.

Before I started building Co2 kits I used water. I used water the same as the co2 but the water didn’t hit as much of the intercooler as I liked. Another bad thing about water is you cant use it a the track. The track is where the water or Co2 will help you out the most. The track guys don’t like the idea of spraying water everywhere and having it leak onto the track. I went to the track 1 time with water and was not allowed to race and decided to try something different, so I though of Co2. The Co2 is perfectly legal to use at the track and it sounds like a bad a$$ purge:shhh:

You guys keep for some reason thinking Im bashing your product. I understand that water works, and so does your kit. I made the comment that yours would since it's colder, and yes you touched on a very good point of not dripping water onto the track, which is the exact reason CO2 and N20 sprayers for IC's have been developed. I did however touch on the point that this kit costs about the same amount as a homemade WI kit, which will have safeguards built in, and provide quite a bit more power. I just simply want to see the results of this over the WI, for the price. Also 5 passes at the track on one bottle isnt much. Specially for the cost of the refills of these bottles.

I dont think you are bashing anything? I thinks its cool that you have comments and questions. I never thought you where bashing my kit!
The c02 bottle cost about 3-4 bucs to fill up depending where you live. Im trying to get ahold of a cheap n20 bottle or a coca-cola c02 tank that they use for soda machines =) to me its worth the time and the money for the kit, it may not be to some. and thats cool I have no peoblem with that at all. Im hoping to get some dyno #'s soon!!!

Yea, the bottle in my opinion defiantely needs to be alot larger, as 5 sprays isnt enough in my opinion. That's like a dollar per spray in my area.

Anyway, I know this kit does work, and I am personally dieing to see the results, as I would like to try a lot of various things this year such as WI, IC sprayers, and possibly propane if I ever feel it's safe enough for me to use and store a tank in my car. I would like to work the setup I currently have alot more, as I know there is still alot left in her. Good luck with this kit though. Are we going to have AWD or FWD dyno charts? Is the car going to be fully retuned after the shot is made? As if the intake is truly drastically colder you should be able to turn the boost up slightly. It'd also be nice to see the dyno's on the various IC's such as the stocker the Supra, and a nice FMIC such as the big greddy. See if you can get a fan pointing into the bumper opening of the IC as well on the dyno so you can re-enact the effect of wind during normal driving. I wanna truly see how it would work in the real world.

By the way does anyone have this kit currently hooked up, and can actually through the butt-o-meter feel any results? Any drop in EGT's? Increases in MAS Hz? Just curious.

hey guys and gals, i just got the inter cooler spayer form TWITCH and took the car out to heat up the intercooler (heatsoak) and gave it a quick spray. guess wut, after that it was COLD (i mean COLD). i could feel the difference and this was at like 78 degrees out, can't wait till next summer!!!! o yeah the website to check this stuff out is http://www.intercoolertechniques.netfirms.com/ if u wanna go there ;) my kit is on the front page :D .

hi, its 150 for the basic kit (wut i got which is all u need)

u can install it (took a dummy like me about 30 minutes to install, and most that time was spent trying to find a hole to shove it ino the firewall)

u turn the little nob on the bottle but he will have a solenoid button as an option here really soon hopefully :)

any more Q's just ask

twitch,

I have more n20 solinoids than you or anybody on this forum could shake 3 sticks at and alot of them are new or barely used. (3, 6 sec pro-street cars all using 4 stages) well anyway they are just sitting around so if you would like to buy a few of em at a really good price (about 30 percent off retail) then let me know

edit: also lots of lines, AN fittings and the sort, maybe we could do some trading I need 2 hobbs switches got my own idea about some n20 spraying, I am going to run a 35 shot till 5 psi then the second stage comes on and yep you guessed it it will be a intercooler sprayer.

That is just cold to the touch though, that doesnt mean there is a huge decrease in intake temp. What I meant was in the actual car itself while driving could the difference be felt. I have yet to hear someone mention that they have felt a difference in the car.

Cant you spray it while raceing ? or are you guys just useing it to cool at stops ???

Great product! You can have the effect of winter time all year round. I just have one stupid question here. Where would a man go to refill the co2 bottle at after it's empty? I'm getting ready to purchase a big GReddy fmic next month, and I'm assuming that you can make one to fit the Big GReddy since your making it for Larry, unless he's changed his fmic. Am I correct? Great product once again! Thanks!!!

You can go to any local paintball shop or welding shop cost about 3-4 bucs to fill it up.

What kind of line does it use to go from the bottle to the sprayer, steel braided??? i can run it under the car or inside??? also is there a chance for the tank to explode in the car when its hott outside???

thanx ryan

I use what is called macro line, its kinda like the line used for a boost gauge but stronger. you can run the line inside your car. The bottle will not explode! there is a saftey blow out disk on the side opposite of the on/off vavle. The blow out disk can burst if the tank is over filled and it is really hot inside your car, but it will not hurt you! But the bow out disk will not rupture even if its 150deg inside your car the tank must be overfilled in the first place.
