Yeah the vrsf kit looks really good, I have the godspeed project kit and it isnt bad either. I made 400.2awhp and 415 ft lbs this summer on this kit. I will be upgrading the core this winter though. They claim it is only efficient to 350hp

The VRSF kit is the SSAC kit done right. They switch to aluminum piping, modify the LICP to fit, and include all couplers and clamps.

I have the SSAC kit, but that was before VRSF offered the same kit without the added headache. I love my SSAC kit and would buy VRSF if I were looking for a quality low price unit now.

The PR kit lets your keep your fogs from what I've seen, which is sweet. The PR kit does in fact = the CXR kit. (as in, they are one and the same)

For the ETS kit, they're definitely the highest quality of the ones listed and made in USA from what I've read. IF I had the extra money, I'd consider them.

DVDT Fab is uber nice, but expensive too.

There's a price you pay for quality.

Definitely, but sometimes, you have to choose between that beautiful intercooler that has great airflow and supports XXXCFM (when you only need xxxCFM), and saving $5-600 and fixing those busted shocks, or pay a little extra on that mortgage.

Very high quality, and worth their price, I'm sure, but you have to live within your means.

:p

Couldn't agree more.

Exactly. And my goal was 400whp on a DD setup with a 68HTA. The VRSF I think is great for my setup. I would have gone with the ETS Street, but I'd rather save $500 and put that to use somewhere else.:thumb:

I bought the CX Racing FMIC kit as I was trying to get there for less money to start. It functions great, fit, cooling and flow. As you have read, better quality cost more money but better quality comes in different ways. The biggest difference between the CX kit and the more expensive ones you will see is the physical weight of the kit. I think that lighter weight piping and core would be the biggest benefit to a single step up in cost if in fact it would be lighter. If you went 2-3 steps you could see better flow and cooling along with the weight benefit to boot I would guess. I think the more experienced dyno guys could answer to the higher end kits. ALSO, my CX kit showed up missing a clamp and one section of the piping. When I called and told them, they asked for pics of the parts I did receive. When they got the pics, they agreed I was shorted and they stepped up and shipped the rest with no grief at all. Great service is also part of the package I got with the CX kit. I believe it is a great kit to get the project up and running and a lighter kit later down the road?

Also, the piping fit with ac and power steering still functioning with one mod to the piping. I had to shorten the drivers side elbow right off of the core. Was no issue. I also relocated the power steering cooler tubing in front of the core support to make room for the J pipe.

Just my $.02 from a CX owner.

Also, if you like the bumper, that is all that matters.

The PR kit is in no way a bad kit. But then again the people I usually see bitching about them are passed the rated range for them.

They are small so they would not add to much lag to a 14b/16g I've honestly never heard of anything larger than that being used on them with out complaints though I am sure people are using them and aren't bitching.

You also have to remember how many people come on here just to bi*** compared to how many people want to give a positive review to a product. Plus you aren't really hearing all of the good about the product mostly only the negative.

Thanks again everyone for the replies. It was a close race between the CX and VRSF kits. I chose the VRSF because everything is aluminum, and it has a very high flow rate (so they say), and the piping looks to be shorter-route (by an inch). Also, it's cheap. I don't need a $1200 for my goals. I was even considering a bigger side mount, but they don't make them anymore for our cars, and even the supras are hard to find now (and it seems like a lot of hassle to install).

I have no doubt the CX/PR kit would be good for my application either. I think they both have similar piping, with the VR being a tad shorter-route. I think I can keep ac/ps on both kits, possibly even fogs. I may buy the ETS street core when I have money to blow, because it is a good, quality, highly-rated kit. But for now, the VR is good for me.

I might still even look for a bigger sidemount as a backup, as I already have hard piping for the sidemount that is just going to be sitting around, and I could switch up the look of my car from slightly modded to stock-ish. Sleepers, ftw! haha.

I went with the VRSF one, because all I had to do was cut a 5"x5" square out of my radiator support. 10 minutes to any DIY. All the piping fit perfectly. Im running close to 500 hp, and it holds up like a champ.

Do you have any pics of the install, mainly the DIY work? And I'm glad to hear it's been working for you! Makes me a little more confident with my choice.

Isn't there some sort of special going on for the VRSF fmic? Seems like a really good deal and good quality.
