Im planning on doing the 6 bolt swap and was wondering if i can use the 2g intake on a 1g head, i have read several post on the swap but thats the only think they dont seem to specify.

Yes you can, but it doesn't seem beneficial unless you port, 2G has smaller runners.

You can, but if you have a way to get a 1g manifold cheap, you might as well switch it now because it is a huge pain in the ass to do with it in the car!

Unless you are getting the 6 bolt as a complete long block, you should stick with your 2g head. There are some threads up already that deal with velocity vs flow (2g vs 1g) and the consensus seems that the 2g design is superior to the 1g even though air flow in the 1g is greater.

The only thing you really need to do is bore out the head stud holes 1 mm to accommodate the 12mm head studs that are on the 1g head. The machine shop could do that in a few min especially since you should be having the head re conditioned since you are putting in a new block and all.

But to answer your question, there is a large difference in size between the port holes between the two generations. You would cause a tremendous amount of turbulence which will rob power easily by not letting the motor breath properly.

If you decide to do the 2g head on a 1g block, look into the Evo 3 or RVR intake manifold if you do not decide on going with a SMIM. They are proven better over the stock 2g manifold, look nicer, and not as big either.

i have a complete NT 6 bolt already, and im doing all the machine work myself, im going to be doing the oil squirters soon, so the 2g head is the better way to go? i am stroking the motor, some say there clearence issuse with the crank, i was wonder where

There's not nearly enough material on the 2g intake to port match it to a 1G head. Also, I don't think you'd be able to get it to seal anyways.
