Ok guys, now with my exhaust out of the way im moving onto my air intake. What do you recommend? Im lookin for a good product, without an exagerated price. I've been looking at the Dejantool and Injen models. What do you guys use, and whats a good/cheap place to buy? Thanks! :talon:

I bought this one, and I've been extremely happy with it.

Turbo spools faster, BOV and Turbo much much louder....
Exactly the same as Injen, except this one comes with a much better filter in my opinion. You don't have to pay over $200 for it, but it does not have Executive Order Numbers for smog if you need it.
Keep your stock crap if you have strict smog reg's.
Peace

If you want the "mother" of all intakes try FPs 4" monster:

I got one but didn't work with my setup (popup light mech in way) so will be returning unless someone wants it.

The Dejon Intake like CIP-2gs doesn't have any of the 3 fittings for the VC vent, Charcoal Can. vent, and BCS vent.
Altogether from Dejon shipped would be $176 for the 3" model with all 3 fittings plus the BOV dump.
Then you have to buy their Mass Air Flow Sensor filter adapter plate and a filter, add another $70 on top of that plus somemore shipping.

I'm telling you, the Extreme Psi is an excellent buy for the price, unless you plan on running a huge turbo with a larger than 2.5" inlet.
Oh look, Dejon's filter and adapter seem to be out of stock.... what a shame....

ok smart guy, you win :p

i just soent 20min lookng around some more and it does look like your plan is best. the dejontool would be awesome, but it doesn't comes with everything we need.

Is the stock MAS restrictive or anything? like is there a good reason to remove it for a new one like dejontool's anyways?

What are you talking about MAS like Dejon's???
Dude are you referring to the GM MAS UICP kit, that's a Blow Thru set-up which, you might not know about.
The stock MAS is plenty fine for moderate power levels, but once one get's up around 400+whp, then a blow thru set-up would probably yield a more efficient intake system.

Man someone asked, and I answered, I think I learned an important lesson....

didnt notice you had two threads the same thing so ill post my reply again here.

any cloth cone filter will do to replace that stock air box. A hard pipe intake is not needed until you get an upgraded turbo with a larger inlet.

i got he injen for X-mas..... i love it! my bov is ALOT louder, sounds very nice and looks great

get it off off the sponser section on the fron page in here (pttuning) or somthing.... they give you an additional 5% off so it was only like 212$

I got the Xtreme Psi kit and it works just as good as injen for cheaper. There are also alot of intakes for cheap on ebay. You dont need anything expensive, its just a tube that feeds air to ur turbo.

just thought id mention this

extremepsi kit for 139 plus shipping

Ebay kit for 65 plus shipping

they look similar dont they...

I got the eBay (naturally). The casting's rough, the polishing is okay other than the pitting, the welds are scary, and it all works just fine. But I didn't get the kit, I got the air filter/adapter for $10, then got the pipe for $40. Notice on the eBay you show that the filter is a bit smaller-intake, I think that's the 3" vs the 4". I don't think it'd make any difference.
