I am interested in getting a new intake pipe for a 91 GSX, but am confused by the Dejon Tool listings. How do I know if I need a 1gC or 1gD or any of the 13 listed? Would it be better to go with one of the other choices, or just a simple air filter on the stock piping, like a K&N?

It is pretty confusing. I went through the same thing a couple weeks ago. Basically you want a pipe that has a BOV return tube, a 3 inch side to fit onto the stock airbox and 2.5 to fit onto the stock turbo. Other than that the car already comes with a k&n cone filter, it's inside the stock box. Most people just take the box off to allow more airflow or hack it up to make somewhat of a heat shield. I would get the CIP-1gS model. I have one that I may not use if you want to buy it, pm me if you want.

if you get on ebay i would check out 144mph intake pipe. i picked one up and it works wonderful and is inexpensive. 3in and will fit the turbo.

:talon: I'm pretty sure that I have answered this question for another general tech, newbie forum... you should see it at the top called "which intake" or something like that. read through it if you like. :thumb:

1 Curved - Intake 1gDSM& GM MAS - CIP-1gM&N
2 Curved - Intake 2gMAS - CIP-1gS
3 No MAS - VPC & Blow-Thru - CIP-1gQ
4 Straight - Intake 1gDSM & GM MAS - CIP-1gP
5 Straight - Intake 2gMAS - CIP-1gR
6 No MAS - VPC & Blow-Thru Cold Air - CIP-1gL

1 If you're using a 2g mas then you select the 2nd one.
2 If you're using a 1g mas or a GM mas then you select the 1st one.
3 If you're using NO mas and doing a "blow-thru" setup then the 3rd one.
4 If you want a "straight" pipe and not curved for a 1gMAS or GM MAS select the 4th one.
5 If you want a "straight" pipe and not curved for a 2g mas select the 5th one.
6 If you want a "straight" pipe for your "blow-thru" setup then select the 6th one.

If you don't understand that bro just go ahead and drop me a line back and I'll explain further. ;) But if you're going to go with a 2g mas then you should go ahead and get a curved one CIP-1gS. If you're going to continue to use a 1g mas then go with CIP-1gM&N. A 2g mas is recommended for a 1g alot of the time but you would have to rewire it Vfaq to do this is here.

Goodluck, and if you need anything else drop us a line back.
:)
