99gst_racer.... is the car in the signature yours??? if so wasn't it in a movie recently?
had something to do with "death rockets..." ????
Yeah, that is my car in my signature. I dont think it was ever in a movie though.... I'm kinda lost on the 'death rockets' thing.....

Hey everyone, I am looking into getting into the dsm world and would love to be able to do so, but I am only 16 and with my low paying job, it depends on how much insurance is gonna be on wether i get one or not. Because I am only gonna get a 1g gsx or 1g tsi, and since i am guessing that those are considered sports car, the insurance must be pretty high. So I was wandering how much yall 1g awd turbo people pay each month for insurance, PREFERRABLY the people with ONLY liability since that is all that I am gonna be getting. Thanks for all of your replies. I really hope to join the dsm world soon!

You should be anywhere between $100-250 for liability insurance. Cheaper if you are on your parents policy. :thumb: Those were the days......

$110/mo for 1990 TSI AWD when I was 20 (should be the same rate)

only $10 more a month than my 1990 Lumina was... so no, they're not expensive

I pay $90 bucks a month for my non-turbo, i got a really loose quote of $160 a month for a TSI(FWD). I have all the discounts for good student, parents policy, everything. I am only paying liability too. Just a referance point.

Well if your car was in that movie, that could be your answer as to why progressive wont insure you. " Death Rockets" sounds like one of those Primetime investigative reports or documentary. What are the odds if your insurence agents was watching t.v. and saw your car in that video? OMG

I pay $250 every 6 months under my dads name for my 90 GSX.. i only have liability on it tho .... definatly try to get yer parents to have it under yer name... a friend of mine pays $600 every 6 months for his cavalier

Thanks a lot everyone for all your responses. That is not bad at all or near what I thought it would be, because me and my buddy were looking into getting 1g awd's until he went on progressive and was quoted $3500 every 6 months for the basic plan. So that scared me and him away from the dsm glory. But i couldnt just lose hope, so I had to find out for sure. Thanks again!!!!!! I shall be joining the dsm awd turbo world as soon as I sell my civic hatchback and find a 1g gsx that I like.

used to be 70 then they found the ticket and realixzed i was on my steps dads multi car discount (under a diffname) and now it's 180! :thumbdown :thumbdown

When I get money I am gettin insurance back on mine and when that happens will be the first time I will be on SR22, I'm 19 and have to pay all of it, do I have to get Full Coverage or can I get just liability? I worried I won't be driving my car cuz of insurance costs... :thumbdown

i have 23 points on my liecense............insurence hahahha thats a joke. they wanted something like 2,800$ every 6 months. whats that like 450$ a month.......Im not being a good person and i have no insurance....been that way for about 10 months saved a ton of money..........dont recommend it tho :thumbdown and dont speed to begin with haha 5 wreckless one that was 145 in a 25 with drag racing and avading police, yikes, and to be honest i dont know why i still have my liecense. Yes i dont speed anymore i learned my lesson and then some. but when you are driving your GF (now X) SC mustang cobra with 498rwhp you tend to speed ;)

ouch man, see here in BORING Iowa they dont have "points" on our licenses, when you f*** up enough they just pull it for like a month or more depends on how bad u f-up. But most likely im moving to back to my hometown in Colorado soon and I would like to start driving my damn car again, (it's been almost 5 months) and im worried i wont be able to afford it. so i just wanna get some ideas i guess, to know what im up against.

I pay 240 a month for my RS, full coverage by Country Insurance. But thats because I'm only 16. I almost got a bad deal with proggressive, they wanted me to pay 650 a month for liability. Others like allstate and american family wanted between 320 - 340 a month. It really depends on the company and probably the sales representative.

They want me to get my own policy when i just got my lisence today..Wouldnt it be cheaper to get onto their policy instead?
