i bought a 1991 eagle talon nonturbo and just got a T25. its just the turbo and a stock intercooler. what all items are required to get this thing up and running fast and cheap? i just want to run turbo and dont really care for performance right now. i just want a turbo in my car and its automatic LOL. pics can help with the basic turbo needs. im going to ecology to find some oil return lines because idk what else it needs for turbo operation

Don't know if your injectors are the same as the turbo models... but... Turbo injectors, fuel pump, engine management, all piping, turbo manifold, its going to be a lot of work.

With all do respect. Fast and cheap will leave you slow and busted. You cant just slap a turbo on. Need all supporting fuel upgrades as im sure your injectors are smaller then the turbo auto models. Not to mention you have a higher compression ratio so you will only be able to run a few psi without breaking stuff.

You will a way to tune as well otherwise your ecu will not be a happy camper at all. Just do some research and take the right steps for upgrading. No one wants to see a broken dsm if it could of been prevented.

- Stock 1G Turbo Fuel Pump or Better
- Stock 1G FPR or Better
- Stock 1G or 2G Injector Resistor Box
- Stock 1G or 2G 450CC Injectors
- Custom Piping
- BOV
- 1G SMIC
- 1G Turbo ECU
- SAFC or some sort of FMU
- 1G or 2G Exhaust Manifold
- 1G or 2G O2 Housing
- 1G Downpipe
- Boost Gauge
- Boost Controller
- Custom WG Actuator as 12 PSI is not recommended for this car's current condition...
- Turbo Intake w/ Filter & 1G or 2G MAF

i was thinking flip the car and buy one thats AWD turbo because thats my dream thing to do with this stock FWD. i know its alot of work transfering but it would be cool to make my own TSI. i guess i should sell it, but all the ones on craigslist are all crapped up haha. they have bent valves or engine knock wich isnt worth spending my money. How much could i sell a clean interior 91 eagle talon with 140500 miles??? (rebuilt transmission* too)

wow not one person really helped every one just kinda beat around the bush hardcorandy did the best , i would help if i had more info. but do what he said look 4 some of the parts in the marketplace o yah and dont give up you can do it.o and i see one more person helped as i was in the middle of my post

pretty much the only way to make a non turbo to a turbo is to rip the whole motor out and make a project of it.. ## not gona be able to do it cheap either. i tend to agree with others.. sell ## car and buy a turbo.. otherwise its gona cost you alot of money to turn ## NT into a RELIABLE turbo car

i just want to run turbo and dont really care for performance right now.
Every reason to do all of the costly and labor-intensive steps necessary to add a turbo to a non-turbo car right there. Well said. :applause:

WOOT!:hellyeah: nothing wrong throwing my opinion out their. I would just hold onto the N/T for now. And get some driving experience under his belt first before modding!:thumb:

Keep the car as a dd and pick up a 1g gsx for a project. I dont understand why people mod their dd, makes no sense to me. Wait you live in cali, have you thought about the potential emission problems you will have?

id say its easy to swap a 4g63t into it if you have the money to!!

You will need all this:
- Stock 1G Turbo Fuel Pump or Better
- Stock 1G FPR or Better
- Stock 1G or 2G Injector Resistor Box
- Stock 1G or 2G 450CC Injectors
- Custom Piping *Wrong*
- BOV
- 1G SMIC
- 1G Turbo ECU
- SAFC or some sort of FMU *WRONG*
- 1G or 2G Exhaust Manifold
- 1G or 2G O2 Housing
- 1G Downpipe
- Boost Gauge
- Boost Controller
- Custom WG Actuator as 12 PSI is not recommended for this car's current condition... *WHAT??*
- Turbo Intake w/ Filter & 1G or 2G MAF

And a Cross member from a TSi FWD or GST for have it fit correctly!

And no you dont need custom intercooler piping.. you can use the stock shit!
And you can use the stock WG Actuator on the stock 14b if you get a 6bolt to swap in!

its REALLY not hard.. just cost money!
I didn't it to my 93 Talon DL... thats the one that came from factory with a 1.8L SOHC motor!!!!

ok. so in my car, im just gonna run how it is currently depending on if i can get this stupid thing started. BUT! if it all works out, ima keep it stock but replace fluids and timing belt. idk how to do anything else. so far, suspension is what i hear i should start looking at. idk where or what bushings in a car look like. skateboards are different LOL. ima keep finding parts for my turbo along the way of replacing suspention. anyone live by spring valley?? haha i need someone who knows what their talking about to physically show me to help me be a better mechanic. im lookin up to zeekster777 with his sexy gsx

First off, don't try to get anyone to show you how to do something. There are VERY FEW people who will actually do it or explain what to do in person.

There are many different references you can use to find every question you have. The search on here and VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions are both really good.

You can also find some youtube videos or just google search something vague and have a idea of what to look for from there.

Honestly, repair work is extremely easy for the most part and requires very little mechanical no how if you can just work a search bar.

As far as the original part of the topic, I wouldn't suggest you turboing a 1.8 like everyone else has said. For one it is too expensive for way to little gain. Secondly it is way harder to do than just go buy bolt ons for a TSI or GSX if you want to go that route.

If you really want to go the turboing a NT route I'd really wait until YOU know what it will take to turbo it. These aren't like lego muscle cars and take a lot of knowledge to make real power. Really, I don't do DSMs for them being fast stock (they are decently fast for a 2.0l turbo for their time) but for the challenge it will be to get it to where I want it to be. Plus I want to learn as much along the way, with more electronics and forced induction there is more to learn... plus I love the sound of a turboROFL

Anyway, good luck to you and whatever you decide. Just remember to not rush into a car you will regret buying, there are ALWAYS great deals on craigslist.

idk where or what bushings in a car look like.
Then you should definitely reconsider owning a turbocharged 15-year-old to 20-year-old car. Nobody is going to understand how to work on your own car to extract maximum horsepower....you have to learn how to do this on your own. You can't drive your DSM to Midas and expect them to diagnose anything but a muffler leak.

Use whatever money you were going to put into turbocharging your car and treat yourself to a nice, new Skateboard.
