okay so heres my question. i have a catch can that i bought about a few weeks back and I've seen a few ideas and forums of how people have it set up. they're are various ways of doing it but i wanted to come down to the best idea of installing it. my idea was to have it sit tuck just underneath the cold air intake mounted against the wall. how should i now run the hoses to the catch can ? if anyone has any idea or a picture diagram i would appreciate it.

Do you have one inlet and one outlet?

If so, I would run the catch can between the pre-turbo intake pipe and the fitting on the passenger side of the valve cover. This will keep the oil out of the intake piping. You may also want to consider a kynar style Check valve after the pcv to the in take manifold if you choose not to run a dual catch can setup. The Kiggly HLA also helps keep oil pressure in check.

Well you should run your catch can from the PCV side as IMO that side catches the most fluid unless you have a modified valve cover. Check valves are very important too. You can just route the port on the left of the VC back into the intake pipe like stock.

I'm from washington state, but I'm living in canada... For a short time longer LOL been here 4 years on and off, scroll down theres more diagrams

And no the pcv port does not see more oil, the passenger side going to the turbo does because that shit pulls ton of vac

Actually if you read that above article by Calan, the pre-turbo breather hose sees more fumes than the PCV side on turbocharged engines.

If only one can is to be used, put it between the VC and turbo inlet. There is much more oil and hydrocarbon vapor being pushed out of the VC while under boost than there is being drawn into the IM while under vacuum.

To the OP, if you have one catch can then set it up like this (passenger side) VC breather port > catch can inlet and then the catch can outlet > turbocharger intake pipe.

Add an extra check valve from the line that goes from PCV > intake manifold.

Fumes Maybe but fluid I don't think so and fluid is what you want to catch. I have 2 -10AN ports welded to the side going into a catch can then the PCV side going into a catch then back into the IM. I have the stock PCV in place too and the PCV catch can gets emptied much more regularly.

Would it be possible for you to translate that into a diagram? I wanna get it over with by tmrw if possible

The setup is exactly like the improved stock setup in calans page except you eliminate one of the catch cans. I suggest you eliminate the catch can thats routes from the left of the VC looking at the diagram. Just leave that side stocK or the way it is now.

That is not what oneslowwdsm is suggesting, but it what was suggested by others including myself, for a single catch can setup. This again, is for the reasons I already stated. Having it routed as oneslowwdsm suggests (the one not circled in your diagram) does not remove oil from your intake piping.

Yeah a few times but they usually only are helpful if you are a customer or friend in some way, i bought a bearing cover and bought them my t case to install it. But i havnt had any experience other than that. They are a little out of my orice range but damn do they make nice stuff. I tried asking for a welding job to accompny "flowers" but at the time i was still in school, and now I'm moving back to the US. So I'll look for another shop haha

For what uts worth both my Vc lines are going to a gatorade bottle i dont use a pcv. But i will be modifying this to some sort of can, possibly an exhaust vac system. However, My car isnt daily driven but as is the bottle doesnt ever fill more than a 1/4" or less.
