installing 1g BOV

I am currently making my own intercooler piping right now for a 1g BOV and I have a couple of questions. First off would it be bad to run all of the piping welded together instead of using couplers or does the piping need the couplers so that it can move around a little bit. And also when I weld the 1g BOV flange on the pipe, how high do you want it to sit off the piping? Thanx for your help

i would have it seperated into two sections. try bolting up your UICP with it all assembled, it's a pain. have couplers at the mid section and where it meets the SMIC.

i'd have the flange sit about 1/2" from the pipe.
