I would like to install this Bov because the ebay purple-ish one I have is extremely ugly,

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

My question everywhere i read says you will need the flange and weld it onto the intake piping, Well i have a Fmic but where the bov is mounted the flange just pushes into a piece of plastic tubing with a hose clamp securing it, it looks like the stock location for a bov. I will take pictures when I get home I was wondering if someone could clear this up for me.

Found this pic online looks pretty similar to this except replace this greddy with knock off ebay :)

If that's your current set up then you'll need an adapter pipe and the flange. Or a upper hard pipe then weld on the flange.

The BOV pictured is a Greddy BOV not an ebay special. As for the BOV linked you will need a special flange for a V-band clamp. I dont know if they sell a special adapter piece for your stock piping or if you would have to buy a short metal adapter pipe. It would be a good idea to get rid of the POS stock plastic pipe that comes off your sidemount. If you plan on running a front mount anytime soon I would hold off on the BOV untill then. Just giving you options.

In the original post I stated I already have a FMIC and I would love to replace the stock piece of plastic could you provide me with a suitable replacement link on like extreme psi for example. Also, "Found this pic online looks pretty similar to this except replace this greddy with knock off ebay" As in replace the one in the pic with my knock off ebay because im at work and have no pictures.

Sorry Im still learning about dsms when you say upper hard pipe could you provide me an example on extreme psi and also of the adapter pipe and the flange For that BOV?

It does seem you have a true greddy though. Oh wait just re read your post that's not your picture. But I
Pretty much looks like that?

Exactly Micro DSM sadly im at work LOL so I cant take pics

Found a picture, THIS IS MY CAR LOL

Need to see some pics, it sounds like you have a FMIC but some of your piping is still the stock rubber/plastic? If so, what kind of FMIC do you have & do they offer a metal pipe kit for it? If not, you may have to have someone fab you up some custom metal pipes. Depending on the core, you might be able to make it work with some other brands pipe kit.

The Tial comes with the mating flange for their BOV (need to pick the material to match your IC pipe material) & the clamp. Just need to have this flange welded on, once you get a proper metal pipe.

Edit (pic added): Not the best pic, but from what I can tell, yes that would be the stock upper IC pipe. You want to replace that (well actually all the stock IC pipes) with a proper metal pipe.

This car was very... Ummm.. Lets just say Done incorrectly as a whole LOL. Im thinking of just buying a whole new intercooler and piping kit. Unless you think it may be better to go a different route? I cant take pictures of actual piping until im home.

The intercooler I have is a smaller intercooler made by mishimoto.

If your profile was up to date people could help you out a little more... What kind of FMIC do you have?? I cant tell but it kind of looks you have hard IC pipes.. Not sure :idontknow: If you would have just google searched or even just looked around on ExtremePSI you would have found your own links to the v-band flanges you could get welded onto your IC pipe..

Or google special for a BOV with flanges and everything you'd need

Maybe getting custom pipes done would work, even the punishment FMIC is pricey at just under $400. If you can get pipes done and the tial for less than that I would do that.

Crash89 I believe I answered your question here "The intercooler I have is a smaller intercooler made by mishimoto". Also, Im pretty sure i also explained I do not have an upper hard intercooler pipe its plastic so welding a piece of metal onto plastic would not work. I provided links to extreme psi so that would show I was doing research on this issue, the links you provided me do not assist in my situation at all that link is for a godspeed bov im looking at a tial one. The extreme PSI link is great if I had a hard upper intercooler pipe as I do not this is of no help. I appreciate the help from you though thanks.

MiroDSM Im thinking custom pipes may be the best route, I think your 100% correct. Would you recommend like a machine shop, What material should the piping be? aluminum?

If you are considering getting a new fmic why not look into a vrsf kit. Its a nice kit and lots of members here are running it including me with no problems. Intsall is easy and you can get it flanged for the bov you are looking at. Sorry im on my phone so I cant put any links. Good luck and hope you figure this out.

dsmdream and chinola 69 thats is exactly what i was looking for, Everything in this car needs refreshed and upgraded anyways so I think VRSF 2G FMIC Front Mount Intercooler Kit : 95-99 Eclipse & Talon Turbo 2G DSM Would be perfect.

VRSF 2G FMIC Front Mount Intercooler Kit : 95-99 Eclipse & Talon Turbo 2G DSM

Is a bit pricey I think for now I may just stick with the one I have as I wasnt aware the whole top intercooler pipe needed to be replaced.

Kinda makes me wonder what BOV's have the flange that just pushes in and secures with a hose clamp?

I have so many other things to accomplish thats what I wouldnt want to do LOL, So if I have my own Upper intercooler pipe made whats the best way to moch that up and take it to a machine shop?

No a machine shop is for engines.

Just get something like this:

CXRacing 2.5" Intercooler piping kit Free U Pipe 9pcs | eBay

and do it yourself is fairly easy if you have some mechanical skills. You can cut the pipes with a chop saw. The only thing is going to be the beading for the pipes which is not nessary but helps alot. There is a thread on here on how to make one out of a vice grip. Also once you have everthing in and tight get this and check to make sure there are no leaks and done. What Mishimoto FMIC do you have? How are the pipes on the endtanks positioned?

TURBO BOOST LEAK TESTERS - Kits For All Turbo Charged Vehicles

I think I will have to post pictures but my piping looks a lot wider in diameter than that one, I dont really want to replace it all at this time just have the top pipe made and the flange I need mounted to it.
