A little bit confused...420a?

Yesterday I passed by one of the local dealers and acidentally saw a talon. I was curious so I asked for the keys to see wheter it'sa turbo or not. As soon as I opened the hood something else was there instead of 4g63. There was a plate on the firewall that says 420a engine, ok, but what got me confused is that it said MITSUBISHI instead of eagle or chrysler.
Doesn't chrysler make 420a's?

I know this sounds like a noob question for some of you, but any kind of answer would be appreciated.

420a is the engine that came in all usdm 2g eclipses and talons. It is a chrysler engine but all talons I have seen have mitsu badging under the hood.

All DSMs were made at the Mitsubishi plant in Normal, Illinois (even the foreign ones). Once the DSM collaboration ended in late 1994, the plant was handed back over to Mitsubishi entirely. My 1997 Talon has a Mitsu badge on the firewall as well.

Despite the DSM organization disbanding in 94, you might consider a 2GNT a DSM in that it's still a Mitsu-made vehicle with a Chrysler powertrain.
