Small hole in 1g BOV - Installing 1g BOV on 2g eclipse gsx

Hello, after browsing and searching around for over an hour, I've come to the conclusion that I just need to ask for help. I built a boost leak tester and found a few big leaks - one of which was the stock bov (common problem it seems). I bought a 1g bov and also upgrading the intake piping. Now I am about to install the bov to the new pipe but... that small hole will be covered by the flange on the pipe. I read an article that tells me it is some kind of quick release. http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/whats-the-small-hole-on-the-under-side-of-the-1g-bov-for.310966/ I am running stock boost with the stock turbo and not looking to modify the bov for extra boost. Will this work or is modifying the bov a requirement (such as drilling a gouge from the center to the small hole)? Please see photo here -- https://imgur.com/a/C9aM6

That hole won't be covered. By the time you put a gasket on it'll be fine. Notice the bov has a step. It's not totally flat. Your flange isn't any different than a stock 1g flange.

Thanks! That's a relief. I just wasn't sure how much clearance the hole required. Apparently not much. Would you suggest using rtv on this gasket before installing?
