I just finished a WB02 install today. as well as a Hallman MBC. I started the car just fine, did the whole calibration of the innovate WB (free air first). and within the first few minutes of idle, i get a CEL. I drive around a bit to set the MBC to 14psi (have boost gauge, prosport, seems accurate enough, gets 20 in at idle, and 10-11 psi with the BCS hooked up, no restrictor).

So after I finish dialing my setup in, I check the CEL codes with a volt meter. I was expecting a o2 code, but there is only one code. 31, knock sensor. What could this point to? I dont think that sensor should be going out any time soon... (laser has 25k original miles and is really clean, but still a 92...) I dont have LINK yet, and I dont want to pay for a pocket logger till I get link.

My AFR'sare off, ~15 at idle, (otherwise normal, rich under decel, around 12-13 on accel)

I was really hoping this was gonna be plug and play, not plug and diagnose... aaaahhhhhhhh :banghead:

thanks

Terminal one on the harness should have 8-12 volts. If that checks out ok , hook up a timing light and tap the back of the intake manifold with a ratchet or something metal. If the car doesnt pull a few degrees of timing then the knock sensor is bad. You could also be getting phantom knock, you should really get a logger.

have you ever replaced the knock sensor because sometimes they just go out. i bought a civic a few years ago (now gone to heaven) and i had to replace a knock sensor on it just because it was that time, it had broken so check that if you have a multimeter. im not sure so double check on the voltage but i think it should be 5v correct me if im wrong so i know

Im a retard... I retraced my wiring. Double checked my diagrams. And Im extra dumb because I dont have ABS so there is no ABS pin in my ecu harness, and that should have been my reference. In all fairness, people say the o2 wire is white, mine was off white, with red splotches. Just got it wired backwards, fixed it, no error codes, no strange behavior. all is well, for now.

4 stacks. I still think i should have paid less had i known more about DSMs (timing belt, TB seals, rubber everything needing replacement). Im really considering swapping another cluster in so i can preserve my mileage for insurance reasons. If i were to sell the car, which i NEVER will. I would fully disclose. since my car is kbb at 5k+ Id like to keep it that way, if it were to ever get totaled.
