So, Sunday was the day. We started early and finshed late, typical.
Goals were to install the e-bay turbo-back system, ebay E316, MAFT and filter. Somehow removing the silencer from the exhaust became the first priority; shouldn't be a big deal, remove two bolts and pull, right? Not this time buddy. The silencer was painted in, that was cool, also it was wedged cockeyed, creating a perfect unbreakable seal. We mutilated this thing for an hour and ten fu(king minutes before inspiration from a cold bottle of Guiness extra stout struck. I ran a string through the silencer and out the bottom of the pipe welded to the muffler, slid the string through a 32mm socket and tied a large nut on to the end of the string. I then stood on a milk crate for leverage and pulled, out popped mr. silencer F you mr. silencer.

On to the turbo... Removal of the old 13B was basic, a mess, but basic. Installing the CXracing E316 not so much. The water lines fit but required modification/bending for everything to hook up. The only hardware that was useful, aside from the gaskets, were the banjo bolts, everything else stud and bolt wise was the wrong thread pitch. Oil feed and return lines were perfect fitment; unfortunately, someone thought it would be a good idea to paint both of them with a thick lawer of some kind of ceramic paint. This included the mating flanges, which had to be stripped with the grinding wheel because wire wouldn't take the crap off. I rushed on the flanges and left them uneven so they both leak. (mostly my fault but still irritating) Otherwise the turbo bolted up easy to my ported 2G manifold and 02 housing, fitment is great.

Exhaust bolted up like cake. The only issue I has was that my e-bay downpipe won't bolt up to the stock cat. All the hardware was grade 8 and correct so no issues there. The cat-back sounds evil, it's very deep and growly, I like it better than the Buschur I had before.

MAFT and filter went in no real need to expand on that. Except it was late and I was tired and I wasn't paying attention and I put the MAF (drawthrough GM) on backwards and cooked it. Couldn't figure out why none of the changes I made to the MAFT were having the intended effect until I noticed the little arrow on the MAF facing the wrong way, that and the red flashing light on the MAFT. Dumbass:ohdamn: Anyway, got another one for $27 shipped so 2-3 days should solve that.

Alltogether, I'm happy with the progress, more stuff to do but I like what I'm seeing so far. Next part is the e-bay intercooler and DIY pipes, used from tuners UICP being modified for the GM MAF and 2G throttle body elbow.
