input shaft seal replacement

I bought a new OEM one, my tranny is out right now, but I don't see it? it's behine the collar I guess? how do I change it? Thanks.

I am in the process of rebuilding my transmission also. On the FWD when you remove the input shaft the seal is located in the center of the hole, it is right after the race. its a black rubber seal, just use a screw driver to pry it out.

I need to remove the input shaft to replace the seal?

..I'm not rebuilding my tranny.. only replacing the clutch and flywheel (and all the oil seals which I do everytime I do anything) is this an oil seal that you need to be rebuilding the tranny to replace?

The input shaft seal is located inside the bell housing..i wouldn't open up your transmission unless it's leaking around that area.

You have to open up the tranny and remove the Input shaft (3/4 gears) entirely to pull it out. AKA full tranny tear down.
