Hi guys,
I am working on my '98 gst and have spend some hours looking through this forum and online vendors and put a few things together. So please let me know what ya'll think:
Right now i have the shortblock at the shop to get it put togther. As far as that goes:
2.0 4g63 ,91 6bolt block
Stroker crank
Wiseco pistons 8.8:1 CR
Eagle Rods
ARP
-----------------------------
I will go on with staged packages that i will be buying as follows:
1. Cylinder head:
- SBR stage 5
- SI Dual spring setup
- Revised Lifters
- FP3 or FP3X cams
2. ECU
- EPROM ECU
- DSMLINK
(I will get this on the side and put it in so i can start toying with it so im ready once the 6bolt goes in)
3. Transmission
-Either Shep or Teamrip
-ACT clutch propably 2600
(That needs to go in before i get the big stuff going :) besides my old tranny should be good enough to break in the new block LOL. Im not sure if i go with a FWD or AWD cause i want to convert to AWD someday if possible.)
4. Airflow
- 4" straight intake pipe
- Magnus intake manifold
- ported 1g tb
- SBR ported exhaust manifold (to go with tial 38mm wastegate)
- Blowthrough setup
- Custom 3" Exhaust system
5. Turbo
- FP3065
- FP o2 housing 2.5"
- HKS BOV
- HKS boost controller (manual)
- HKS turbo timer type 1 i think
- Custom intercooler piping either 2.5" or 3"
6. Fuel
- Injectors (dont know what size yet)
- 255 pump
- New fuel filter
- SS fuel lines
- Fuel pressure controller

I already have all the gauges (EGT, Volt, Boost, Air/Fuel, Fuel pressure). And i am still looking into some things that i am still debating on like the 75mm TB, 1mm o/s valves and such. But all in all i think i have most of it covered i think

Looks pretty good, I wish my pockets were that deep :thumb: also you'll have alot of traction problems unless you go AWD wich is quite a bit of time and money LOL

my grandparents left me money for a car so im using it on the gst. But yeah I just bought my wife a GSX automatic and will part it out before i sell it. Im just not that sure how much of it i can use LOL

are you saying you want to part out the auto GSX for all the awd conversion parts?
-ADAM-:talon:

well at first i bought the car cause it was auto and my wife can drive it. Later on i found out it is a gsx. Its been flooded before and hardly running anymore but if i can get most the awd parts out of it then i might....

well if it doesn't run that well i'd say part it out and find someone willing to do the AWD conversion  You could prob sell alot of parts in the classifieds section
-ADAM-:talon:

yeah i will pretty much part it out (i had a website with the how to on AWD conversion but lost it) and then make it drive and trade it in

Nice list of mods your putting on there, but what I dont get is how can you have a stroker crank and have it still be a 2.0L the displacement would change. Also man your going to need to buy an AWD tranny, but most of the other AWD parts you can swap over and as for the ingectors, check out www.ffwdconnection.com and it all dependes how much HP you want out of the car higher cc ingectors you should get. 550cc or 650cc would probably fit your situation very well, along with a hi-flow fuel set up:D
Good luck with your gsx man:D:D

oh sorry with the stroker 2.0 i meant i just have a non turbo 4g63 and made it into the stroker. I didnt wana confuse it with the actual 2.4l block gc..something that people use :)
And for the AWD tranny is it true you can put it in a gst and just plug some sorta connection or whatever that the gsx has? If so i'll get a AWD tranny and take my time with the swap :D

what? are you saying i cant shift my stroker at arround 12k? LOL jk yeah i was going to shoot at arround 8k or 9k shifts. And yeah i started talking to TRE about the tranny and they will give me a deal where i will give them my 98 gst tranny and they'll build me an AWD i hope (they said well see) and all i need is the driveshafts of the AWD to make it fit but from what i understand with this setup i will also need to upgrade the driveshafts anyways. I havent looked into that yet though.

it may almost be easier to buy an awd and just mod that but since you have one to be parting out maybe it wont be that bad seing as you will already have all the parts. maybe i missed it but i didn't see a fmic.

Yeah i havent decided on a fmic yet. It depends..... I want to pick my tb first. If i get the 1g ported to 65mm i think that will be like 2.5" right? Anyways i will make it where i will have one and the same size of ic piping to go all the way through. As for the fmic i dont really know what size of core i can fit (with new radiator and fans) WITHOUT having to cut my bodykit. I will buy a bomex bodykit that will have a large opening in the front.
