In my choice of intakes its came down between the FP's 4" intake vs the Injen intake...

My questions are. Woudl the 4" intake be too big for a t28 ported and clipped?
Do the injen intakes come with a bov return bung?
If i have a 1g bov on my 2g would i have to get the injen "with factory bov or aftermarket bov?"
If i get the factory bov injen intake and later decide to go with a greddy type-s bov or hks bov would i have to get a new intake or what would i have to do?

You want to get the Injen intake for the "stock BOV" because it has the tip for the recircualtion adapter. The ones for the "aftermarket BOV" are for blow thru set ups (venting to atmosphere) only.

This pipe for the "stock BOV" will work with any BOV you ever use as long as you don't vent your BOV to the atmosphere.... :thumb:

sweet so the "stock" bov intake will work with any aftermarket bov? and it does ahve the recirculating adapter?

That is correct! :thumb:

Also, you mentioned you are trying to decide between the Injen intake and FP's 4" intake. Well, I have never heard of FP, but IMO the best intakes for 2g's are the Dejon Tool intake and the Injen IS intake. Its kinda funny, I am actually going to pick up an Injen intake tomorrow for my car. I bought it for $130! Anyways, I was thinking about getting this one barely used Injen intake that I saw in an ebay auction, until I found one locally. Now that I am not going to get it, you should get it.... Injen Intake

Good Luck! And feel free to PM if you have any more questions.

um blow through is when you put the gm maf on the air intake. before the bov.... i read that a blow through set up is not venting...

also 98 gst do you plan to vent or not to vent... this will put more on what you should get....

when venting you dont want a return tube on your air intake pipe....

if you are going blow through which is recurculating back to the intake, you need one that has the return tube...

Correct me if I am wrong, but Talondude, I believe it is the opposite... in a blow-thru setup, the air flow sensor is positioned after the BOV on the intercooler piping. Because of this, many who have a gm maf setup are venting, because they can do so properly. And if they are venting, they dont need the return on the intake. But if my98gst wants to recirc, which he should on stock MAS, then he wants the injen set up for recirculating ( the "stock BOV" one). :talon:

aarrgg my bad... sorry greatly, its late...... but i was correct on if you need the bov return inlet on the air intake..... you need a dejon tool intake if you are not venting
also some one told me that blow through is not venting i wont metion any names.....
but now i know what a blow through system is for sure i did more research, thanks.....

I have an injen and i love it. Looks great and works well but it all depends on what setup u plan to run. State a goal and we will be able to naswer u and yes 100 percent for sureu cna hook injen up to stock bov.

Ummm.... From now on, please don't post unless you know for sure what you are talking about! :thumb: Research then Post!

I had it right. A blow thru set up enables you to properly vent your BOV to the atmosphere. That is why I mentioned the two together, because generally they go hand in hand-- for DSMers anyways.

I often see people on this board post that the Dejon Tool intake is the only one for blow thru set ups. Injen makes an intake for guys that want to vent their BOV too!

Injen makes two intakes for the turbo 2g. Unfortunately, the guys at Injen did a poor job of describing the difference between their two intakes... The descriptions "for stock BOV" & "for after-market BOV" confuse a lot of people. What they are really trying to say is that one is "for venting your BOV ONLY, and thus has no tip for the recircualtion hose" and the other one is "for recircualting your BOV, and thus has a tip for the recirculation hose"

Here is a picture of the Injen intake that is for the "stock BOV" A.K.A. the recirculation intake. NOTE: picture shows no recirculation hose from the intake to the BOV so you guys can SEE the recirculation tip on the intake. Pic is for visual purposes only!
