Just had a thought, currently i'm in the process of replacing my top and bottom injector o-rings cause i have a leak in one of them.

This made me think, when we have a boost leak through the bottom injector ring, since fuel does go through that seal too, wouldn't we also be leaking fuel if boost were leaking too ? It only makes sense...

Anyone agree ?

Well, the fuel is under more pressure than the boost that is leaking, not to mention they only spray when the valve is open so the air moving into the cylinder carries the fuel with it, so it all blows strait past any leak you may have there. Now if you IM gasket is leaking then, maybe, but even still it will be such a small amount it would evaporate before it accumulated enough to go anywhere.

Mike summed it up real quick. Fuel pressure is higher than the incoming air charge (usually :p). Not much air is actually escaping out of the manifold in reference to the volume entering. When the fuel sprays in it's interval it's being spraying into the air charge that is entering the head.

If the air pressure was greater than the fuel pressure you may have some fuel blow out depending on the size of the hole for the amount of air escaping.

Thanks liquid, that pretty much clears it all up for me. :)
My lower injector rings shit the bed so it's time to change them, blah...

Make sure you do a boost leak test to ensure they are sealed after Installing them.
