92 Talon Tsi AWD,
Florida
Most of the threads that I have found are asking about '90 cars with inactive tachs, I have a '92 talon (a '91 through '94 car).
car: '92 eagle talon tsi awd 5 speed
I bought the car with an inactive factory tachometer. However, I did not want to drive it without some sort of working tach, so I made the previous owner install a AUTOGAUGE aftermarket tachometer. The aftermarket unit works and the stock unit does not. The only bit of information that I have found helpful so far is steve (a wiseman) said..." On 91+ cars it gets it's signal from the Power Transistor Module." Can anyone of you show me a clear picture of where this would be on my car, how to replace it and what its cost is if you know. I have a brand new coil pack still in the box for my car, but that wouldn't help any would it?
At first I believed that my tachometer was inoperative because pin 109 leading out of the ecu on the harness was cut. I connected the two ends with electrical tape, but it had no effect. Is this Power Transistor Module the only other solution?
Anyway, thanks in advance
