Hey guys,my supporting mods are in my profile.I'm trying to get a new turbo because my 16g just gave out on me.Can someone experienced with turbos help me see what kind would be best for my setup?thanks.

Get a 20G and be done with it. Actually, MyBeatGSX, quick spool is for those of us that do a lot of around town driving. I'd hate having a turbo that spooled up any later than 4 grand.

I am running a 20g currently and it takes a bit for it to spool but around town thats not a problem, out of boost = good gas mileage. When my car was an Automatic, I was lucky to get 20 mpg highway, now I get that or better city and thats with a 20g instead of the t25.

you know what... thats a good point, because id like to have a20g also, i dont need early spool as long as it comes in at like 4 thou im ok, because id like to have good gas milage like that, and if i were racing id be above 4 thou the whole time any way so thatd work out perfect. How much did you pay for your 20 g, whats the full boost potiential of it, the hot spots of the 20 g, and also does the 20 g carry full boost strong even after inital redline? I bet it makes the 14b look puny, all i have is a 14b right now.

Exactly my point. There's a difference between around town driving and around town racing. If you need 400hp on instant tap for your commute to work, you need to rethink the way you drive. I have an e16g that makes 20psi at 2,800rpm and my car still never sees boost on my way to work, to the store, etc. It gets up to legal speed just fine off boost and does so with far better gas mileage.

I dont know what they go for new. I have a GReddy td06h-20g oil cooled. I paid $600 for it and it was pretty much brand new. I have heard of them going for $1200-$1400. Full boost potential is 24 psi I believe I have had it to 25 a couple times on accident and it felt mean as hell ( MBC Problems ). Yes, it makes a 14b look pathetic.

You can get 400 whp + out of a 20g.

You have all the mods, your injectors are big enough, you should be fine. I say go for it!

I run a PTE 57 Trim I get full spool around 3,500-3,800 rpms. Feels like a Pitbull pulling on a leash. you can get any PTE 50-60 Trim turbo for around 850-900 except the 56 Trim. They have 50,54,57,60and I think the 60-1 as well. with your fuel supply I'd go with a 60 Trim or possibly a GT30R.

I would like to go with a ball bearing turbo and i know they don't make the 20g with it(learned that the hard way)so It can have a better spool but I really want something that bolts on and has an internal wastegate(for inspection purposes).I have about $1000 to spend on a new turbo so If I could acomplish this within that money bracket it would be great. Thanks so far for the help guys :thumb: .

Nothing. Looks to me like you posted the exact same link.

Its basically a direct bolt on GT30R. I think that's all you. You have the mods to support it and you won't even have to change your manifold.

That's interesting and difficult to compare because they don't give many specs for the one you posted.

From what I can see...

The compressor wheel for the one you posted is a 57trim, it doesn't say what size wheel though... The one I posted is a 56trim T04E. The one you posted does however have the T04E compressor housing. So my guess would be that they are different wheels.

The biggest difference I can see is the turbine wheels. The one I posted has an 84trim 60mm wheel. Your's has a 76trim T31. Again, meaningless partial information unless you know how big a T31 turbine wheel is.

I believe (could be wrong). The one you posted is a regular Presicion SC series with a Mitsu flanged exhaust housing (the "M" in SCM) and a Garret BB center section. The one I posted is an actual full GT30 with only a Mitsu flanged exhaust housing.

I'd suggest just calling extremepsi, they're very helpful and know what they're talking about.

If I got the gt30,Do you know where I could get a good price for the stainless steel braided oil and coolant lines with the flanges for this turbo?Basically to just be able to bolt on.

go check out sbr for there g50 and or gt11 turbos. a few people around town here have them. i like them and that gt11 i my next turbo choice.

I strongly suggest that if you're going with a bolt on GT30R, get it with a T04S cover with anti-surge ports.
