In Dash Tweeters

Hey newbie to the forums here. Had my 95 gst for year or so. Had a lot of trouble with previous owners butcher radio job and bad wires. Got it all straitened out, got my radio going ect. Tweeters in the dash did not work. After doing research i found out their ran parrelle with the front door speakers through the factory amp located underneath the passenger seat. My question is with my aftermarket pioneer double dinn radio hooked up with the leads behind the radio, is there a way to hook up new tweeters using the factory amp still OR is there a way to hook my tweeters up saftly using factory wiring? Any ideas or help would be appreciated....new to dsm's/japaneese wiring.

I think I saw a write up on here under the wiring tech section that showed how to wire an aftermarket stereo using the factory amp. As for me, I just wired them into my aftermarket deck spliced with the front door speakers.

The dash speakers are 3 inch speakers, not tweeters. If you want tweeters then you should invest in component speakers. Tweeters are designed to play high notes. If they are hooked up behind the radio with the other speakers it is going to send the highs, mids, and lows to the tweeters and you don't want that. I disconnected the dash speakers in mine when I bought my component speakers and used a dremel to locate the tweeters on the door panel a little ways above the speaker location. This is another thing too, you want the tweeters relatively close to the mid bass speaker because it sounds retarded to have all the highs playing up close to your face but all the mids/lows coming from down low.
