Well today I went to race a mustang GT and low behold as soon as boost hits I hit my rev limiter and think Im simply spinning tires, shift into 2nd and again as soon as boost hits the car redlines and starts hitting the rev limiter so I can only assume the clutch is toast:notgood: A southbend stage 3 that has about 30k miles on it. I dont know how but thats 2 that have both went a little too soon the other was F1 racing stage 2. Anyone know of any good clutchs that can handle some power and have good street manners? Im pretty confused as I have heard good things and bad things about almost every company. my mods list is up to date other than link v3 for tuning and I have some delta 272s going in next week. Also is there any way to test for clutch slippage? I mean the car is so loud because of the open downpipe so honestly it was hard to tell or hear the tires spinning but im pretty sure something was definitely slipping.

You could have one of the many spectators at the track tell you if your tires were spinning in third..
How often do you hit the track?
It may be time to look into a 4/6 puck race disk.

30k miles is good??? I honestly thought that was awful. And absit I wasn't at the track nor was there anyone else around. I have heard so much crazy sh!t about act I don't know what to think. Same for all the other companies though that's why I was asking who has ran what.

I had a similar problem, it wasn't the clutch it was a little cylinder that is mounted to the front of the tranny that clutch fluid flows through that is suppose to make the clutch easier to press. mine would cause the clutch to release slow and some times only release the clutch half way. all I did was remove it and hook the clutch lines together.

the clutch felt a little stiffer and works properly now.
I had this problem on a different car later and it cause the clutch to be burnt up, so I replaced it with a centerforce dual friction and deleted that cylinder and it worked very well.

How do you launch the car? Do you do a lot of slipping out of the hole?

Is the clutch master/slave good?

If you do a lot of drag racing, you may want to start looking into an auto.

My act 2600 with southbend tz disk is holding up fine. And now that i don't have first i have to take off in second. Which means i have to slip it a lot more then i would normally and it is still holding up fine.

Alright thanks that sounds like a solid combo, did you get your PP cryo treated?

Well thanks for the input but I already deleted that a while back when i upgraded to a solid line from the master to slave cylinder, both have low miles on them. Then again thanks for the help anyways as someone may be reading through and that may help them. As far as everyones questions about how often I hit the track the answer is never. I actually take it pretty easy on the clutch I dont think this southbend has even seen a launch since i installed it. Thats why i thought it was strange when someone said 30k miles was good. Especially since like i say I dont even launch the car or slip it too much.

Found your problem!

Thank you so much for your valuable input on the situation.:thumb:

have you tried adjusting the clutch master cylinder rod??

Yea I have adjusted it a few times but ill get out there later and mess with it some more to see if its out of adjustment. Something odd that i dont understand I went out last night and was beating on it and it never did slip again. I thought if it slipped that bad surely it was a goner but it hasnt done it again yet.
