Roasting an ACT 2100 ?

Just got this clutch and am wondering if like the stock clutch it has a terrible smell when you really slip it?

Yes. Did you break it in before launching the car?

My 2600 didn't really smell to bad when I first got it but it did smell. Nothing like the stock clutch though. Definatly a different smell but that was just in the first 500 miles or so, after that it wouldn't really slip that much it would just grab and go. So yes it will smell a little bit but nothing as bad as the stock one unless it's hanging up on the flywheel.

Havent launched it yet I am going to wait a couple of more weeks. But I did give it a little boost today about 12 psi, but after I was in gear, but it didnt smell at all so I guess it held up. Gonna take it easy for the next week though and see how its working. How exactly do you know if its broken in? I have about 440 miles on it but about 280 of those are highway miles.

I believe for street discs 300 miles of stop & go driving should suffice so you may want to give it a few more days of city driving. Mine never smelled at all during break-in.

they say 400-600 miles and I waited the 600. It was HELL but worth it.
All my friends try to drive my car and then get in theirs and are upset from the weakness of their clutches. I love my 2600.

On my 2100 clutch, I noticed when it got broken in because it started to engage much smoother and even harder too. Broke it in for about 400 miles or so.
