I'm having trouble with my 99 gs :(

Ok so I just bought a car last week and drove it 100 miles home and it was fine. When you first start it up it runs alright then after a few seconds of idling the Rpms drop a little and it acts like its gonna shut off. After a few seconds of that it goes back to a normal idle. Then when you drive it, you will have the gas peddle in and it like jumps (like it goes really hard then stops in a fast succession)and then it almost shuts off (all while you have the gas in) then it picks up and jumps really hard. But as soon as the check engine light comes on it drives perfectly fine. I thought I felt something in the transmission but I'm not sure my dad thinks it might be somethig electrical but idk. Can somebody please help

Sounds to me like an ECU issue maybe if the check engine light comes on and it runs fine. Something maybe kicking it in and out of limp mode. Id guess the ECU first.

Ok and what do you suggest I do/replace?

I would get your check engine light scanned first and see what it says. If I had to guess I'd say maybe knock sensor or a cam/crank timing sensor. But get scanned first.

Could be the ecu but first make sure all your sensors and stuff check out

You mean the throttle is not responsive some times?

Yea like I have te gas in and italmost dies out completely then it kicks back on a accelerates

makes sure you have spark and fuel on all cyl and timing is right. If all that passes check your tps sensor, could be faulty.
