2G Ignition Switch

Hello all, I bought a new ignition switch with keys for my 99 eclipse 2.0. I got the old one out but the new one will not go in. I noticed that the new one is slightly different when I put them next to each other. The place i ordered it from may have sent me the wrong one. Is there a legit place where I can buy a new one that will match the old one. (The new ignition is on the right)

Can you take a couple more pictures at different angles. I see the TAB is much longer on the right but is the overall height different?

BTW what you have is the Ignition Lock Cylinder not the Ignition Switch. Parts companies will however label it as such sometimes.

NOTE: After doing some quick part searching using my vendors (own an automotive repair shop) the difference would appear to be manual or automatic transmission. I assume you have an auto (left) and what you received was for a manual (right)

Wow! thank you for taking the time to reply to my post and help. I had a feeling they sent me the wrong one. And yes the one on the right (new) has a longer post and is not positioned correctly like the old one as you can see. Can you recommend a vendor online that will send me the right one? much appreciated! This is my first car and although I've been having some problems with it I love this car. Thanks again!
