OK, I have a 90 Talon. Im trying to get a new coil, sounds easy right, well heres the trick, My coil thats on the car has a circular/triangle shaped plug with 3 wires from the harness. I ordered a new coil from autozone and it a has a squarish plug with 4 wires. I check ac delcos coil and its the same as autozones. The coil hoever looks identical. Does anyone know what coil I need and where I can get it

'90 cars have the four pin coil
'91-'94 cars have the three pin coil

Why you have a '91 coil on a '90 I don't know, but if every thing was preveously working with the old coil just get a '91 - '94. Does your three pin coil have a tach adapter on it. My JDM motor came with a '90 coil, but had the three pin harness and no tach adapter.

Well thats just it, I bought a 91-94 coil but it only has the 2 plug ins for the spark plug. I need one with four. IT seems like I have a 91-94 harness but I need a 90 coil

I think they gave you the wrong coil, the '91-'94 coils have 4 prongs for the plug wires. They look the same as the '90's. They have a different part numger on the coil, and no tach adapter though. This pic shows the difference between '90 and '91-'94 coils. I got it from this site. http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/ecuconversion.html

Thats really weird. I need the one that on top (3 PRONG) in the pic. Do you know where I can order one from because I dont want to deal with autozone. You know whats funny, the car Im talking about makes 617 hp to the wheels LOL

Your car makes 600hp and you don't know anything about a coil pack? I'll be the first to call BS.

Well, that dont answer my question. Does anyone know where I can get a 3 pim coil at thats good quality. I can assure you my car does make the power it makes. The truth is, Ive had many 9 sec cars, 10 sec cars, etc but I have never really dealt with DSM. SO Im basically learning like all of you. But Im smarter than most. I buy a car that already makes serious power and build it up from there. ITs a lot cheaper that way as anyone who knows cars should agree. YOU awant a ride, come get one or bring any car you have to race. LOL and if you beat that, then you can race my renegade mustang. 9.30's at 147
