ignition coil failure

hi,

i have a litle question about my ignition coil

when i trying to start my engine only one coil gives a spark. i went to my mitsubishi dealer and bought a new ignition coil, i installed it on my engine, tryed to start and only the same coil gives a spark (the other coil doesn't do anyting) now my question is what could be the problem i checked everything and i cant find an answer.

Have you checked the ignition modual? Its like a relay for the coils.

Buy New POWER TRANSISTOR... generally this device fails coil pulse

If only 1 side of the coil is firing, & you tried a new coil, the problem is either a broken wire somewhere, a bad ecu, or the module (transistor). The transistors fail somewhat regularly in our cars . . .

Hey man i had firing problems too one summer and it was the transistor ..i put a new one and solve my problem that has to be replaced too if very old ...rock auto has good prices on oem parts ...heres the link www.rockauto.com...hope this helps..

+1 on the power transistor. Check the connector and replace the power transistor if needed.

I had the same problem once. I checked the coils and they were good. It turned out to be a loose connector at the power transistor.

hi,

thx for the info you gived me but i followed the cables from the coil and 1 cable goes to the power transistor and the 2 others goes to the ecu. Non is broken and the one that is connected to the power transistor is the one that works.
