Idling Issues.

[GSX 95 eclipse]

I had just recently pulled my engine out of my 98 GSX and put it in my 95 GSX. For some reason my car is idling really bad and sometimes wont even stay on. I think it is just because i am boost leaking but iam not sure.
Please reply with any ideas on how to fix this.

Ok, That is what i was going to do tonight i was just un sure if that would be my problem.

A bad boost leak will make everything TERRIBLE.

I had a IC pipe pop off while I was driving once, felt like the car exploded. I could only go 5mph, was 3 miles home too >_>

And you shouldn't have even made the thread until AFTER the boost leak test.

And even then you shouldn't have made the thread until after SEARCHING.

I did use the search i could not find anything and sorry your right i should of boost leaked checked it first.

Any check engine lights on?

Also, boost leaks generally do not translate into an idle problem unless you have a charge pipe completely blown off....at which point you won't be able to make any boost at all- as dboyle23 outlined above. You're more likely to have a vacuum leak causing an idle issue than a boost leak, so check any of the vacuum lines going from the intake manifold to their various locations.

Get the check engine light diagnosed- chances are it will point you in the direction of a failed component that is relating in your rough idle.
