I may be buying a 91 AWD TSI Tuesday. It runs good however it idles at like 2k. Said it wouldn't idle at all until he replaced the ECU and now it will idle at 2k+.

Car is stock besides a 2g manifold, and t25 cause the 14b went out. Also has a 2g tranny.

Motor is supposedly original with 130k.
 
Not exactly sure where that is located. But he claims it will die if you turn the idle down. Guy wants 1500 for the car. I may offer alittle less but it does run and looks pretty good. Having trouble finding a DSM around here that isn't a complete pile for less than 2500.
 
Oh I forgot that you have to ground 2 terminals to adjust BISS and 1 for timing. The other one you have to ground is inside by the fusebox. The vfaq I linked you to should point out everything for you. If you can't get it to idle at a lower RPM then you should start checking for a big vaccum leak.
 
I don't assume a T25 could cause any problems? Can't decide if I want to get it or not. It isn't to bad but I'd hate to buy someone elses aborted project to find something bad wrong with it.
 
I don't think I would want to leave that little thing on the car. But as far as having anything to do with the idle problem, no. The only problems it could cause is being too small and not flowing real well at high RPM's.
 
Yea I do not plan on keeping that. I am looking for a 14b locally just to get the t25 off there.

I don't plan on any huge mods for awhile. I just want to get it running good and drive it some. Will probably start the mods later. I really wish I had this car for the past 3 weeks. Snow + mustang GT sucks. I'm sure this would do way better.
