idle up and down

finally got my car together and when i start it ,at first it keeps dieing and clicking from the tpi but after trying for a few minutes it runs but idles high 2000 rpm and drops down to 1000 back and forth

have you checked for a loose vacuum line that could cause idling

i looked everywere guy next door said fpr but was wanting to see if anyoneone had the same problem first
