I just got my '93 awd running from a bad starter (again), and everything was going well. A week ago I noticed the coolant reservoir light was on. I added some distilled water and went on my way. On Monday night I was on my way home from work and the light comes on again. No biggie, I'm almost home and its just the reservoir that's low. I'm getting off the freeway and I'm sitting at a stop light, and I notice the temperature slowly starts to creep up. The light turned green and the temp stayed at just a hair past the halfway mark. Upon going over the speed bumps (they're big, and my car has cut springs
) the temp started creeping up again. It's nighttime, so I figure F*ck it, I'll mess with it tomorrow. The next day, I fire up the car to warm it up and the revs shoot to 2.5k, and hold for a minute, then settle to 2k, then once it's warm it surges from 1100-1500. Does the idle problem have anything to do with the cooling problem? Also, when I shut the car off I hear a hissing noise coming from what seems to be the thermostat housing.
HELP! It's spring break and I don't want to spend it working on the effin thing.
