Or you could block it off. There are sideaffecs to blocking it off, but if you can live with em, then you'll never have to worry about idle surge again.

yea im curious too...i get idle surge during the cooler weather and its quite annoying

Varying idle RPM with temperature/ humidity changes, RPM drop/complete stall when AC kicks on..to name a few. BTW did anyone notice the original post for this thread was in 2005?
