This is an update from an older thread. I recently got a new water pump installed and my AC belt removed and my car started to Idle at like 1200 and somtimes 1500 rpms. My Throttle Position Sensor code turned on when my check engine light was showing a few weeks before, but there wasnt any idle problem. i just put new NGK plugs and wires on. I also Just recently bored out my turbo, bored out my Evo iii housing, and installed a full 3 inch Apexi N1 system, just for variables that might count. Then when I'm driving, I notice that my car is running rich. I did a test by putting my hadn on the exhaust and smelling it and it smells rich (maybe lean, I'm not sure what lean will smell like), but the smoke started burning my eyes like crazy. i really need help on this in the next 2 days. I'm taking my car to the track for the first time after the mods this wednesday.

THANX DSMers

You need to get a logger or some kind of monitoring device and stop guessing if your runnning rich or lean by smelling your exhaust first off. Second none of the mods you have done except the B&M FPR have been fuel related so I would go check and make sure your base fuel pressure is right.

By the way I am not gonna guess without seeing your car and some logs but I would also check your tb to see if it's stuck open a little I know I had idle problems when mine got stuck.

ok, well I took the trottle body off and cleaned it with TB cleaner, it was pretty nasty, but it didnt solve the problem. Like i said before, my check engine light went on and my trottle position sensor code went up, so it most likely could be that. this is what I'm going to do tomarrow

-Limit out the grounding kit
-check the tps
-check ISC

anything else I could do?
