So I have a 95 Talon TSi A/T :notgood: and when I shift from park to drive it feels like the whole engine moves. Also when on the road if I try to floor it, it only revs but doesn't change gears until I let go off the throttle, is this a bad transmission?

I don't think i explained very well, I was in a bit of a hurry this morning. So what happens is that when the car is cold it shifts properly the way that it should, but once the car warms up it idles at 2200rpm!! And when I want to shift from park to reverse and from reverse to drive it feels like someone just rear ended me.

Also if I step on the gas hard it revs all the way to 4000 rpm and I have to let off the throttle so it changes gears, is this transmission slipping? I should mention that I poured a bit of Lucas Transmission fix maybe about half a quart but it didn't do much.

Do I need a new tranny?

Why would you think that an idle issue is created by the transmission? The engine is just idling too high. When you put it in gear the engine should be at around 850 rpm's, if it is at 2200 rpm when you put is in gear than of coarse it is going to slam in gear.

IMO, you should check the idle issue first. If its idling at 2200, that will give you a harsh engagement. I would venture to say that all of your trans issues dont have anything to do with the trans itself.

that's what i was thinking, the high rev will make the gear slam but what about the gear changes while driving i have to press on the gas very gently.

So my car runs just fine when cold, but as soon as it gets warm or its hot outside it starts idling all the way to 2200 rpms!!

What is this it is driving me crazy.:banghead:

Does it pulsate? I.e. surge to 2200 then back down, back to 2200 then down? If it dose this, then it's more than likely the IAC motor.

Check for vacuum leaks, too.

There wdr two things I believe like they mentioned idle air control but also a fast idle valve could be bad correct me if I'm wrong could be another source to your problem

When I first got my dsm it had idle problems, i cleaned my idle control motor and it was fine after that. It was realy dirty and couldnt move as easily as it needed to I guess. :idontknow:

My biss screw leaked a tiny bit also, changed the o ring on it. Hope this helps.

O yea just dont use brake cleaner on it. I think I read it can kill it. I just used a damp cloth, not wet just damp.
