I'm going to be purchasing a 4g63T shortblock from an acquantance and need to know how to be sure im buying a turbo block and not a non turbo how can I make sure of this??

The stock turbo turbo pistons will read 63DT on the top, the T stands for turbo.

Also a turbo crank has a small alignment dowel pin that sticks out of the front of it. (where the flywheel bolts too). NT' don't have this dowel, but from what I understand, its not even needed.

Also if you can pull the oil pan, you should see oil squirters underneath each of the pistons. That way you can be sure that the turbo pistons weren't just swapped in.
