Idel/Stall Problem

Okay I Did Look At FAQs And Did A Keyword Serch But i didnt find anything that Sounded Just like my car If there is Somthing Then Im Sorry and if you could just post the link to it thta would be great! okay so here goes:

I Have A 1992 Talon TSI AWD Auto Turbo, and When i Turn it on It shoots to 2KRPM ((which I Read was Normal?)) And then it drops to the stock 750Rpms After a bit. Here the problem when Putting it in drive or Coming to a hard Stop the Car Chokes out And i Have to Restart This Happend Twice in 30 second Today Im Just Starting to Buy this car from my brother and i woul dhate to need to fix anything after the $5000 he put in to it for Tranny,Pistons,Brakes,and so on Every thing is Stock But he Did Remover the Filter Cover Thats it though. So anything and everything Would Be Awesome Thanks!

Yes, idle can be high when the car is first started and especially if its cold out. You may have a boost leak somewhere that could be causing you to stall out when you let off the gas and apply the break. Try doing a boost leak test. Check http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html to make a tester.
