well i was putting everything back together after the fire the other day and then i was adjusting the timing and it was idling like shit and i was revving it to see how my boost was doing and then it boosted TO 30 PSI i was like holy shit and then i did it again and it did the same but then went back down to 15 after awhile so i was okay and my car hesitates until i get into boost and after that its all good but i was doing that and there was some steam but i think it was from the heater hose port that i didnt plug up so i am plugging it up today after school (which is where i am now)

and then i will try it and why am i idling like shit and did i blow my head gasket

oh yea supporting mods would be a MBC

a Big 16G turbo

a 1g BOV

a tubular manifold (that glows in the dark after about 5 mins of running )

so i think i really might have blew my head gasket i am not sure please help

Well check a few things: Are you pushing coolant out of the overflow every time you get into boost? Are your oil and coolant mixed (oil looks like chocolate milk)? Are you blowing clouds of smoke out of the tailpipe? If you see any of those things, then yes, it could be the headgasket. As far as the poor idle goes make sure that your timing is set properly, even if it is one tooth off it will make the car idle like absolute crap.

PS some fuel management and larger injectors for that 16g wouldnt be a bad idea

Before I replaced my head gasket my car idled really bad. It was burning a little coolant b.c i had to keep adding some. You can open the coolant cap and see if its up to the top. Dont do it when its hot!!! My overflow was empty and engine was full. Then I checked it often when the engine is cold. Now my idle is great and not loosing any coolant.

I hope in school they teach you to use periods and avoid run on sentences.
MBC is not really supporting mods.
You made 30psi in neutral just free revving? Did you do a boost leak test after you put everything back together? That frequently causes a crap idle. As far as your headgasket do a compression check. Do you have a logger to at least see whats going on with your motor? Like Kahl23 said time to step up and get some engine management of some kind.

i am sorry man i was in keyboarding. But yes my car is still idling like SHIT but my head gasket isnt blown so what degree do i time it at??????? and which way is retard and advance???

and yes my car was boosting at 30 psi at a netural rev but it was only one of the worst boost spikes i have ever seen

well how do i time my car????

that faq answered some of my questions but not all what degree do i set the timing gun at so i can time it i was thinking that its all just the CAS but maybe not please help

Just leave the timing light at 0, clamp on the cyl 1 wire and look at the timing marks on your timing belt cover, if I remember right its at least 0-10 btdc. Adjust the CAS til it reads 5btdc. You do have to ground the timing I believe. I have a 96 and can't adjust mine but this is my understanding of the procedure.
