Here's the story, I have found at least a few things on my car that were hackjobs...I can't remember for sure, but I'm inclined to say the dimmer never worked since owning the car, now tonight I went and wired in a shiny new AFR gauge, and I know what I'm doing, all my connections are in the right places, and the gauge works fine, albeit won't dim with the dimmer switch.

That being said when I went to unplug the dimmer switch, I found it was already unplugged, and seemingly had a yellow wire jammed into it, seemingly going from one wire to the other.
I removed it, and went about my business, and now I have no dash lights, it is my suspicion that the previous owner bypassed the dimmer switch because it wasn't working? If so, what is the most likely cause, also if anyone knows what fuse it runs off that would be great to know as well.

I think you should just leave it. It doesn't do any harm unless your using that dimmer switch constantly for what reasons I don't know LOL
