Does anyone know where the black and yellow wire from the dimmer switch goes after this wiring harness plug? What does it power? I am in process of figuring out why my dash lights are not working and I found out that once I disconnected this plug they work ,the problem is that something is shorting out the system and that's why my dashlights are not working and the dimmer switch is heating up and melting.

Thanks man 😀 I am going to take the dash out today anyway and I will trace the wire, but I was hoping that someone will know where exactly is going this wire.

There 3 wires from the dimmer switch 12v- green/white, black- ground, and 12v- black/yellow and I know that my problem is the black/yellow wire it does go to every light with dim control. The Black/yellow wire should be something like ground, because I read that you can jump the black and black/yellow light up the cluster.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's the return wire from all the the dash lights. All dash lights have +12v on one side and this wire on the other which goes to the dimmer switch to control the amount of ground applied (to control intensity). If this wire ever had +12v on it due to a short, your dimmer switch would burn out or melt.
