I smell A Fake!

I dont mean to hate because i am new but......I was checking out some people's profiles and I came accross a user named rdeterman and I checked out his profile. He says that he ran a 14.233 but had no trap speed or 60 ft time. How does that work out? Were they not giving out slips that day or is it just a guess. Sounds like bench racing to me....I am not sure what bench racing is.....would this qualify? Now I start investigating this guy. I see he has a nice setup for a newbie and does not have an upgraded turbo or injectors. I go through his post and see that he has beaten a lt1 camaro(in video) with exhaust and intake. Where I come from those cars run high 13's. Riddle me this....how does a car that runs 14.233 beat a camaro with those mods(stock camaros run 14.1)? Maybe the camaro is stock and he just trying to make himself look good? I think this guy sounds like a fake or BS artist...what do you guys think?

I think if you scanned all of the members you will find a bunch with stock cars that lie about mods. I wouldn't worry about it. People feel that there respect from other members will come from a mod list rather than the content of their posts.

99% of the kill stories you find here or on any car forum are bullshit, as well as times.. everyone wants to pretend they are extra special on the internet.. just have to learn to deal with it, and laugh it off when you see it.. the hangout section is always good comic relief for this sort of humor

I dont see why most dsm's wont run low 14's with free mods and exhaust so his 1/4 mile is possible.

I have personally ran an ls1 camaro at the track and he only ran a 14.50. Mostly driver error so anything is possible.

And why would anyone lie and say they only run low 14's? Thats just slow. And as a newb, I wouldnt be trying to nit pick anything untill you have something to contribute to this community.

Having driven an LS1 Camaro, 14.5 is with a very crappy launch :thumbdown , I think I could do a lot better, and I'm in an auto, but thats just my .02

If you are running mid 14's in an LS1 you need to /yourself.

Let it be man, is it that big of a deal? Drivers do make a difference its not just the cars. People laugh when I say I beat a zo6, but yup I did and will do it again.

The real question that I am asking is....where did he get his 1/4 mile time? He has no trap speed and no 60 ft time or link to slip. Was there a paper shortage at the track and they didnt giveslips out that day? I am not bangin his mods.....but i am bangin what mods the camaro(in the video) really had. No way he could beat a camaro with those mods, no matter how good of driver he is. Sounds to me like the camaro is stock and he just wanted to make his kill look better. That was what i was trying to get accross in my post!

We run 14.5 stock, I dont see what the big deal is? All races depend on the driver, you can have a DSM that is modded where it runs 12's, put a bad driver in thier, and you can be back in 14's, I dont see your point?
