Hello all. I think its depression talking since I've had this car since June and havent driven it once. I've investede ALOT of $$ into this project and with this year coming to a close its starting to really bring me down. :(

SO i ask all of DSMtuner.com (I am not trying to bench race, i just need some motivation) to look over my setup and tell me what you think of it. It seems that when ever i get close to drive it, somethign else always goes wrong. DAMn DSM :mad:

Will it be a good occasional drag car, maybe intimidating track car, or possible bad ass street car thats alwyas up for a good drive?

thats a nice mod list, I think that will be one hell of a street car and good for occassional track use... my bench racing guess is something around 13 even, give or take...
 
What are you b*tching about? :p It looks like a great setup. It all depends on your goals for the car.. if you want a track monster, it won't hurt to swap in a Walbro 255lph FP, 660's and maybe a T3/T4. Other than that, it sounds like it'll be quite the street beast. I'd think with some good driving you could pull low 13's which is nothing to be embarrassed about. Good work :thumb:

I think i'm having this delimma because i think i'm teasing my engine with the big 16.

With this engine set up i can probably support a frikkin huge turbo.

the problem with that is that i would have to redo my supporting mods. FMIC, fuel pump, and injectors. and those alone can easily run me over $1000 then i need to buy the turbo. ANd i already have 1500 into every mod you see on that list besides the engine and car. *sigh* i'm just tired.
 
If you check my mod list, I have close to the same setup. my engine is getting rebuilt now, but before that i had my doubts, it ran much better with my stock 14b, my tuning needs some work though, i hope it will be much better when i get it back
 
I would ditch those EVO injectors. They aren't high impedance.

Plus if you want a monster street car and strip queen, get a 50 trim and some Denso 680CC injectors.
 
It seems like you have a lot of unneeded extra work, mostly engine work. I think the money spent on that kind of stuff won't show much until you get a fuel pump, big turbo, injectors, and better tuning. It should be great with that setup though as it is, just not amazingly fast in the 1/4 mile.
 
I would recommend selling the turbo getting 6?0cc injectors, T3/T4, and 255lph... but if you tune the car with what you have and maybe toss in some cams you could get a low 12 with flawless driving or mid 12 with good driving. The way it is now my best guess would have to be 21.8 - 13.1 depends on you 60ft.

I hear ya. The engine was originally built by a hahn turbo dealer for his HRC SUper 20G thats why its a lil "overdone". and belive me i completly agree.

At the time i didnt have the $$ for a 20g so i got the closest thing i could afford.
 
I think the "headlight ram air" is pointless. Your turbo is doing the ramming so your headlight won't have to. Nice setup though, i'm jealous.

TO be honest I have no idea what its gonna do. I saw it on another members site and decided to try it. If it doenst add hp at least it will help lower engine temps.

THnaks man. I'm actually looking to throw a 50trim or a 20g up there and call it a day ($$ permitting of course). 450+ hp oh goody. I bet that will make the creater of this machine very proud.

Your FMIC will be fine. Just don't do back-to-back runs constantly and it won't heat soak. I know this isn't the only thing to look for when searching for a FMIC, I'm just saying that it will work.

Your re-wired 190 will support north of 400hp.

Injectors are the only thing you'd have to buy, along with a turbo. I say go for it :thumb:

Really?! I guess its like how everyone NEEDS a 50 trim setup. No one says the 190 is good, its always the 255. Thanks for that. I will keep it.
 
I see no reason why you cant get into the 12's on a big16g. There are guy's in the high 11's on the stock 14b. Everyone seem's to go for the biggest turbo possible anymore, The turbo is one part of the equation, Tuning is the other. You cant have one without the other!
If you are infact looking for a bigger turbo, You should take a look at
www.bullseye-power.com they're turbo's are not to highly priced!! I'm going to be ordering a to4b as soon as I get my car back.
As for you're setup, At least you will be able to run high boost level's being you have a fully built engine.

Pretty much $800+ ship for a internally gated T3/T4 isnt bad.
 
I didnt see a fuel management of any sort on that list. Honestly, tuning IS key. I also have a built motor, big turbo ect....Im running ross 8.5:1/eagle combo, 6-bolt bored .30 , si/manleys,SS valves, comp full race cams, running a AGP t3/t4 50 trim kit, 780cc's, FRH Intake manifold, and SBR FMIC...

That list doesnt mean shit without something to control it. Your setup is good for what you make of it. What i mean is that you could have an 11 second 16g'd car or a 14 second 16g'd car.

Personally, im running the AEM EMS. Its a complicated standalone and not for beginners but the tuning capabilities are endless. I switched FROM a dsmlink v2 to the AEM and even though the dsmlink was much easier to control, the AEM has infinite possibilities to ensure precise tuning.

If I were you, i would keep the 16g, get some 550's, and spend any extra money on a fuel management setup. You'll be glad you did.

by Fuel management do you mean a SAFC or MAF-T?

I have a SAFC 1.

oh and with the rewired 190 fo i need a fpr or will the stock one work??
