Okay so I go to Import Life, here in phoenix and they tell me that oil has been spitting out and its on my engine and around my throttle body, he also says that I need to replace my turbo and get a new intake manifold, maybe even the stock intercooler, because oil is in all of these parts. Heres the deal with my car, when i get past 0 on the boost guage its starts to spudder and and its all sluggish, i also heard that its spitting fire out the exhaust when i shift in high rpms. I need help finding cheap performance parts, and such, I could use some help.:dsm:

Leave that shop and never go back there again. First you can still keep your stock intercooler and intake mani they just need to be cleaned out. Next before you start forking over cash to these clowns either do some research and find otu what is wrong with your car or take it someplace else and see what they say. Find out the problem before trying to fix it. Trying to guess what the problem is and "fixing" things just because they might be related is not that way to go about it. Next do a compression test and a leakdown test to see if your loosing compression somewhere and where you are loosing it.

You will also want to check your turbo for shaft play and check both your comp housing and o2 housing for oil. Those are usually tell tale signs that your turbo is blown. IF and this is a big if, your turbo is the problem just replace it with a stock unit for now. You can find them cheap and easily, and it will give you time to get your supporting mods done before tryin to throw on a huge turbo.

Oh ya I know there are alot of dsmers in your area ask one of them if they can come check out your car for you and see what is wrong. I KNOW FOR A FACT that there are alot of knowledgable members of this board that live in yoru area and I am sure they would not have a problem comming and helping you. Maybe just buy them lunch or something for their time.

How do i do a compression and leakdown test?
You will first need a compression checker, usually 20 dollars at most auto stores, while your there you should grab a manual for your car, chilton or haynes manual, I dont mind describing to you how to do it, just its a lot to post, but its not hard, im sure there is a thread already on it if you search, if not, post back and i will do my best on telling you how.

Compression test complete with standard compression numbers and service limits for different models and years.

Leakdown test

Also, check your turbo for shaft play by taking off the intake and trying to wiggle the compressor wheel back and forth, up and down, in and out, etc. ( I shouldn't need to tell you to do this when it's cold. :) )

Even if you get oil in your intercooler, it's super easy to clean. Unbolt it, take the hoses off it, and run some alcohol or gas through it. Shake it up a couple times with some gas in it and drain it. Rinse, repeat. Let dry and reinstall. Same thing for your intake manifold: it can be hot-tanked for $15 or so at your local machine shop if it's that covered in sludge.

Like mentioned, find someone on here that knows what they're doing and have them take a look at your car. (Hint: Many DSM'ers will work for beer. :sneaky: ) Either that or have a reputable dealership or mechanic take a look at it and give you an honest answer.

See now look at that, dsmers always willing to lend a helping hand.

I think I have personally gone to 5 or 6 houses to do timing jobs, balance shaft eliminators, headgasket, arp install and wiring for a 6 bolt. I really get around ;) LOL. And I've only lived in AZ for like 3 months.
