i was driving and hit 10 psi and went to orileys and i left my car running and i came out and it was just all the sudden blowing alot of blue smoke which i know is oil turned it off and back on doing the same thing and there was smoke coming from the engine for a few seconds what could it be im lost

well to be honest my car will hit 30 psi at full throttle i have no idea why


okay this is what happeaned like i said i was driving hit the gas the car is all stock but anyways i pulled into orileys and there was smoke from under the hood i opened it couldnt see anything wrong so i left the car running and came back out and there was a whole ton of blue smoke coming out the exhaust a whole lot i turned it off and back on and it still did it someone told me to take the intake off so i did there was a little oil someone told thats normal thats really all i know to be honest

You're hitting 30 psi on the stock turbo? I'm guessing blown turbo by now... check it for shaft play.

You could also get a catch can setup between the valve cover and intake, as well as get a new OEM PCV valve to stop oil from getting into your intake.

That's just the cheap stuff. Lots of things can burn oil. Rings, valve seals/guides, even a leak from a stud in the center of the exhaust manifold section of the head will cause you to burn it on the exhaust manifold itself.

Start doing some searching on burning oil on this site and you'll find your answer in no time.

I'm going to throw a head gasket in the ring. If you are somehow magically spiking 30psi on a stock block and head, you probably lifted the head and blew the head gasket.

i dont know like everyone said ill do the little things first and if it lifted the head wouldnt there be oil or coolant or something all over the place?

I hate to be that guy but you need to do less driving and more reading. Organizing your posts will help you a lot also. Your not hitting 30 psi on the stock turbo I can assure you. Burning oil means your getting oil into a cylinder. Even if your turbo is "tight" the oil seals can be bad. A few other possibilities are that the rings are bad (less common on these cars), the head gasket could be blown, or your valve seals could be leaking. I would look to the turbo and head gasket first. Welcome to turbo cars.

No when you lift a head its not like you blow it off the block. You create enough clearance inbetween the head gasket and surface to lose the clamping force retaining the gasket in place which will blow a chunk out inbetween a cylinder and coolant or oil passage. It sounds way cooler that it is.

Figure out your problem, and fix it. How do you know you're hitting 30psi?

You could always do a compression and or leak down test.

That's the first thing I would do is as compression leak down test.

You will fuel cut way before hitting 30psi on a all stock dsm! Its sounds like the turbo is blown if your constantly abusing the little t25 like that. I would check turbo for shaft play if non than start off with a simple compression test. That will most likely tell you all you need to know!

my boos gauge shot all the way down to 30 psi and turbo has no shaft play and i only done that once any other time i only push it to ten psi and i plan on doing all that now and im not driving

and as soon as it shot down it hit fuel cut

I'm calling BS.

today i passed someone and i gunned it to the floor and my boost gauge shot all the way down to thirty my car peeled tire and then just went boom and shot a huge thing of smoke out i know i hit fuel cut but could it really just ran that much or and by the way i was already running 70 mph i havent hit boost since then....

Now that im done with that.Lets try helping this guy.

If the turbo has no shaft play than why do you need a new one? If you just blew the tubrine oil seal than get a rebuild kit from gpop and call it a day! I mean if your buying a $65 14b you need a rebuild kit for that anyway. Because I definetly wouldn't throw a used 14b on my car without rebuilding it first! And i highly suggest figuring out the real problem first before just throwing parts at it!

When you say "down to 30" are you sure that's not reading vacuum? Even if you lost the signal to the wastegate, it would take a real effort to push 30psi through a T25, even just as a spike.

I'm just curious to that fact, if this is all stock that he is relying on the factory boost gauge to determine its 30psi?

When I threw on my mbc I spiked 27-28 for a split second and hit cut, that was a 16g though.

I think instead of spending $75 on a turbo you should have spent $75 on a compression test. If you swap it out and it was something cylinder related you are back to square one and out $75.

I dont believe the t25 is even capable of 30psi mine struggled to get 18 and thats right before i killed it

I think he may have been reading vac in/Hg unless he is guessing off the stock boost gauge.

You probably have an oil leak onto an exhaust piece or your t25

i dont have a stock gauge.. and all i know is i cant even drive the car because when i start it up all it does is start blowing huge amount of blue smoke if i tried to drive it i would be out of oil before i even hit the stoplight
