I get my engine this week.

I get my 4g63t block this week and I have a couple questions.
He is dropping it off at my house and it was recently just built and the something went wrong with the guy said that the motor was built 500 miles ago and the balance shaft bearings went bad and that ruined 2 of the rod bearings. The motor is good, the pistons are good, and the rods are good. I need a crank.

My questions are:

Should I put the block in a parts steamer/ or give a thorough clean before I assemble it?
Should I go with an oem crank, topline crank, or eagle crank while I am at that stage so I dont have to do it again?

What kind of rod bearings and balance shaft bearings should I get?

Cleaning the block is always a plus before putting it into a car. the crank issue is all dependant on what type of power you plan on making. But then again I have heard of stock cranks going 600+hp with no problems.

Thanks man and also if I am looking to get in the 350-450hp range what set up should I run as far as turbo, injectors, etc goes

YES you need to clean out all the oil galleys now. That engine is full of tiny metal flakes. I would strip it to a bare block and have it hot tanked or bead blasted! Also make sure you buy a new Oil filter housing. Or clean the oil one out really good. You don't want any of those metal flakes getting in your new bearings.

its already down to bare block.
So clean it up real good.

I take my stuff to Michaels Racing Engines in Macedonia (michaels auto parts) They do GREAT work for good prices! He hot tanked and bead blasted my whole block. Made it look new again! It might be kind of Far for you. If I was you I would just find a GOOD local Machine shop.

Yeah I go to D42 but My car was black last year. This blue paint is NEW for this summer I was there tho a few times back in July. I pretty much hit up all the tracks around here. Norwalk/ Thompson/ Quakercity/ and D42.

Norwalk aka (summit speedway) is BY FAR the best when it comes to good track prep.

i live like 20 mins from macedonia i hop on 82 and im there and yea dragway 42 isnt really tuner friendly and it takes them like 2 hours to clear the track
