yeh the projector is the lo beam. you really dont need high beams with em but the other side would be your hi beam. i could so a write up but to tell you the truck I just followed someone elses on here. its pretty easy to understand just actually mounting is hard you know

the only thing i cannot figure out is how to seal up the back of the headlight...the bulb and plug stick out too far and I dont want water to get in. any suggestions?

Here's hoping you kept the parts so you can swap back nice and easy right after you hose down a cop car with those lights.

This isnt CA, and the cops arent that bad around here anymore (It would have been a problem 2 yrs ago)

Looks good Chris. And yes, I think we should all get together again. Do you want me to post a thread on a meet?

PS- Doesnt the yellow car belong to someone in the tri-cities? I dont know if its the same owner but I used to work with a guy that owned it. That was back when I was at the NAPA machine shop in p'burg.

thanx man havent talked to ya in a while...yeh Id love to meet up again around here. please do start another thread as it seems you have more of a "pull" around here getting everyone all together :p . just post the link here. :thumb:

What model BMW did those HID's come out of? Im looking into doing this now, its definitely sexy. Oh, and those projectors only work with a 97-99 eclipse bumper, correct?

actually there are 95-96 style projectors on ebay u just have to look harder but i came across them

and the yellow car was put together by a guy named "Spanky" Vaughn he did all the work but lives around me and owns a small car dealership so Im not sure but he doesnt ever drive it anymore. its cool and all but makes me feel closterphopic in it and looks like it would be hard to drive with the flat windshield. but it is to the T of a real one...he has a book of his beside a real one

:thumb: Nice job. You picked a great OEM projector to use.

yeah ive wanted to do projectors on mine for awhile. i drove an X5 with them and they light up the road so well... i gotta have them for my car. i love the angel eyes on them, but i dont like how all of the ones i find only have one ring... id rather have them on both high and low. i know its a bit ricey, but i like seeing a 5-series at dusk with the eyes lit up.

I think that my tranny is going to go on hold. I need BMW HIDS with projectors(and angle eyes) thow them on a seperate switch.

i dont see why the angel eyes arent possible with a little extra work. I say go for it and let us know how it comes out. you will only know if you try :thumb:

Lol just curious i was wondering where you got your parts? do you have a website where i could get what i need??

ebay has the projectors cheap. If you search, the 97-99 black housing projectors can be had for $120-140 shipped.

I am looking into getting HID's. I want brighter headlights then the halogens in my 91. I am planning on taking out the pop-up assembly and retro-fitting some projectors. I want to know, for those of you with HID lights, which ones you have, what color temp they are, light color, and how much you payed from where. Really I want any and all info on them. Thanks a lot!

A very hard project, took me a long long time to do and i didnt have pop ups :p

there isn't a "kit" out there that i know of, its going to be a lot of custom work.

Good luck, you'll need it :thumb:

heres the HID's i just put into my gsx... 8000k (i also got the new clear headlights)

I don't mean a kit for 90-91 DSM. I Mean what HID kit you have... universal... Catz, Hella, Philips, eBay... etc. Or what you have heard about different kits. I am thinking about going with Catz.

I think it is going to be easier on a 90-91 because I don't have to cut into an existing housing, I am just going to remove the headlight assembly, mold the painted part to the hood, and mount projectors inside the lenses that are already there. Quadzilla (Or something to that effect), from DSMtalk... could have been someone else, did something similar and it looked pretty good.

*yawn*

Use a proper xenon projector housing with standard 4100K bulbs. You will not get better visability than that.

Don't buy 10000K bulbs, don't buy the CATZ crap, don't use a xenon bulb in a halogen housing.

If you look at 9D2streetgsx's second pic, there is little if any cut-off line. Look at the house, see it just fades out like a regular halogen setup... you want to avoid that.
