i called Tim's turbo and he told me it was a 12m 150 thread pitch i tried that and its wobble, if anybody has any info for me i would really appreciate it

search Holset and look under the 4th or 5th instalment, they are talking about the oil line inlet sizes, there are 3 different size's, I'm unsure on the size's though

Take it to the hardware store and match it up with a bolt. Might even find the correct fitting too but usually they have NPT fittings

It should be a straight fitting that uses an O ring to seal. Least that's how it is on the Cummins engines... I'm guessing that's where this turbo came from?

I have yet to see a HX35 or HX40 use an O-Ring Fitting.

The three possible sizes are 12mm x 1.5 with a banjo bolt, or one of two pipe thread sizes- 1/8" or 1/4".

If you're saying the 12mm bolt feels loose, I'm willing to bet it's 1/4" NPT. There are fittings that have 1/4" NPT male on one side and -4AN male on the other- a braided steel line will thread right one. The 1/4" NPT fittings are all wedge-fit, so use a little teflon tape and tighten the fitting until it doesn't move anymore.

Every HX35, HY35 and HX40 that I've worked on used a straight fitting with an O ring and then a face seal on the feed line. I'm 100% positive that is the setup on the Cummins engines.

Sounds good. I'll keep that in mind the next time I rebuild a Holset.

Any luck finding that distributor cap on your car?

Hey lighten up.

I'm not familar with everything on these cars. Never worked on one before. I have been turning wrenches for close to 15 years as a hobby and have worked off and on for shops over the years as well. Have a few ASE certs.

Was dark and -10* last night when I looked at where I thought the cap was... so I didn't get a super close look at it to realize it was a coil pack.

Fountain, if you need a fitting I think I have a few, I can mail you one. The end that goes in the turbo is 12mm x 1.5

He's saying a 12mm x 1.5 banjo bolt is loose- I doubt your 12mm fitting will fit any differently.

No need to prove yourself as a worthy mechanic- I'm basing what I'm recommending for an inlet fitting from the many Holset's I've rebuilt. The 12mm banjo fitting works fine on turbos that use this type of oil inlet without the need for the o-ring because the banjo fittings seal on the copper washers they provide. Extreme PSI has been selling oil line kits for Holsets with the 12mm inlet thread for quite a while- I'd imagine they would cease all sales if the line didn't actually work.

For Holsets with a 1/8" or 1/4" NPT inlet thread, you simply need a pipe thread to AN adapter which is available at any almost hardware store or auto parts store:

I'm just getting confused at this point ROFL

HY35... stock turbo on 01-02 Cummins Rams with auto trans.

They use a 12mm x 15 adapter, kinda like that JIC adapter you have in the picture. Only the top is flat and the oil feed line has a face seal on it.

How loose is it? The threads aren't supposed to seal (reason fitting has an O ring).

Or doing a banjo fitting would work as well... not something I've seen on diesels so I didn't even think of it.

iv been to ace and NPT did not work 12m 1.5 was loose to the point i don't feel like its the right size, i will try this EXTREAM PSI you speak of thanks for all the advice, I'm hopping its like a GT28 cause that what i would buy if i had the money
