HX40 T4 17cm pics

Im posting here because I can't in the Holset turbo thread.

These are pictures of a HX40 T4 footprint 17cm2 (i think) exhaust housing. I took them because I wasn't sure if there was much in the holset threads relating to the T4 housings.

Wondering if anyone is using this housing on a 2.0 and what sort of spool times they are getting with/without cams?

I included a picture of the housing and a IHI VF8 together for size comparison.

You would have to build a custom tubular to work with that split housing. I would just get the t3 bep housing so it would be cheaper. Plus spool wouldnt be as bad.

A divided runner manifold made a 1000rpms difference with the hx52 and a 17cm^2 turbine housing. Each volute has about the critical area size of a garrett .63 a/r housing volute. So it should flow plenty in true divided form, too.

That critical area is smaller than what GST95 used. Take a look at the spool speed with his hx40 and non-divided header.

Yeah I seen that HX52 a while back in the thread.

A friend has this HX40 on his RB30. He hasn't got a tacho but seems to think its getting going hard around 4500-5000rpm. Its a dedicated drag car so the spool speed is great for him. He was running 16psi for a while, but he said it really started to shine when he cranked it to 22psi. The car runs LPG.

Is there any T3 manifolds which can be used in conjunction with the .70/HX40 combo and clear the water pipe on the block? If not then I will make one up I guess.
