hello friends,

i wanna buy the turbo for the project of +500 HP , the piston compression 8.3:1 and the camshaft is 272/272 HKS plus the engine is 1g 6 bolt 2.0L .
Im hesitate between HX40 or HX35 or PTE6162e journal bearing or PTE 6162er ball bearing GT30R or GT35R . i need the fast spooling too .
please let me know ASAP becuase im in the middle of the project , first thing i wanna know the difference on spooling between PTE 6162 journal bearing and ball bearing .

I am surprised no one has commented until now, what turbo did you end up getting and what made you sway that way?

i am currently in the market and have my eyes specifically on both of the precision turbo's you mentioned above. I was looking at Holset's but they just don't fit my specs. (mainly because of their enormous exhaust housings.)

The BEP T3 -70ar housing isn't that big!

I cant wait till I can be a kool kid and join the Holset club.... :/

Gonna try and see what I can get out of the 20g first... Hopefully Mid-low 11s!!

And yea Dave, maybe that -70ar T3 housing doesnt seem that big to you ### your kind of a bigger guy.. But to a little guy like me its like the size of a beach ball! haha

O.P.'s goal was a modest 500whp....totally achievable with the HX35. Actually the 8-blade HX35 has even made over 500whp at this point, so literally pick one and run it. Anything else mentioned will also make the power but will also be much laggier than necessary.

In this case, a 500whp goal with a 2.0, 8.3:1 pistons, and 272 cams, go with the HX35 and choose a turbine housing that supports a lot of flow....then boost the snot out of it.

My only advice on PTE turbos and i'm sure Jsutin will agree is if you're going to get one go wityh the ball bearing, the journal bearing units fail with a quickness. But overall, i have a BIG PTE 67mm turbo and i still want an HX35 since my goals are the same as yours and the turbo i'm running is meant for guys looking for 750+ (which is too much for me and too laggy for my lower goals)
